  • Review of my experience using Mr. Las Vegas (host) - please read

This is long so read carefully...

I wanted to write a review of Michael (aka Mr. Las Vegas) and the services he provided to my friend and I this past weekend, May 8 & 9. We are both guys in our late 20's. We ended up going through Michael (aka Mr. Las Vegas) to help plan our evenings on Friday and Saturday. I can honestly say that I had some doubts going in and wasn't sure what to expect or how everything would work out. After the experience, I would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for some help planning their Las Vegas vacation, particularly when it comes to nightclubs and pool parties. I won't provide specifics of our costs per the request of Michael but I can say that he was willing to work within our budget as best as he could to provide the services we were requesting. Michael also told me that his prices were very competitive and he would match or beat another company's advertised prices if we happened to find a better deal elsewhere.

After making initial contact with Michael via PMs on this forum, Michael called me on Wednesday prior to my flight on Thursday evening. Over the phone, we discussed what I was looking to do during my time in Vegas and what I wanted Michael to assist me with. Michael said that he could def. accommodate my requests and was willing to be flexible with us if our plans should change.

I got into town late on Thursday night and called Michael mid-day on Friday. My friend and I had tickets to see "O" at 10:30pm Friday night and knew it wouldn't get out until just after midnight. However, we still wanted to go to a nightclub that evening and settled on Tryst. Since we weren't going to arrive at the club until probably 1am, we decided not to go for bottle service but instead wanted a VIP Host to meet us and get us in the door. Michael said set this all up for us and asked us to contact him once we got out of the show. The show ended just after midnight and we contacted Michael on our way back to the Mirage where we were staying. Michael said that he had a VIP Host for us who would be heading to Tryst and contacting us shortly. Soon enough, we got a call from our host who said he was at the Wynn and asked when we were heading over. We said we were just leaving Mirage and would call him once we got to the Wynn. We arrived at the Wynn around 1am or so and called our host. He met us outside of Tryst and collected the cash from us based on the cost we had agreed on with Michael. Once our host collected the cash from us, we were into Tryst in under 5 minutes. We literally could not have run faster into the club! Everything worked out so smoothly and we both had a blast at Tryst.

On Saturday, I contacted Michael again late morning once we got up. I had mentioned to him earlier in the week that we were thinking about going to a pool party during the day on Saturday. When we talked to Michael on Saturday, he said that he got us on the guest list for both Wet Republic and Moorea Beach Club per our request. He told us to let him know if we planned on going to either one that afternoon. We decided on Moorea Beach Club as our host the previous night who got us into Tryst said he was DJing there on Saturday. We both jumped into a cab around 3pm and called Michael on the way. He said that he placed us on the DJ's guest list and to provide our names to the staff once we arrived. We got to the entrance of Moorea Beach Club, spoke to the staff, told them we were on the DJ's guest list (we provided his name as well) and then gave our names. We were immediately given wristbands and were on our way! Free admission, no cover; we just walked right in. Once again, the entire process went so smoothly. We were very impressed and had a great time at Moorea (there were many beautiful ladies there who decided to go topless, by the way).

For Saturday night, my friend and I both wanted to go to Rain at the Palms to see Paul Oakenfold, who was DJing that night. We initially wanted to go with a VIP Host to get us in the door but also wanted to have a hosted bar or some alcohol included in what we paid. We ended up meeting two girls and a guy seated at the table next to us at dinner. When they asked what we were doing that night, we told them we were planning on going to Rain to see Paul Oakenfold. They got all excited and wanted to join us. So, after dinner, I contacted Michael and told him that three more people wanted to join us and asked us what he could do. He suggested that we consider getting a table and bottle service at Rain and he would also provide us with a VIP Host for the evening. He said he would get right on it and see if a table was available and he would call us back to go over the cost. About 15 minutes later, Michael called us back and said he could get us a VIP table upstairs at Rain with a 1 bottle minimum for the 5 of us. All we had to do was buy 1 bottle plus pay taxes and tip. We agreed and Michael said our host would be contacting us shortly. We got a call from our host as we were heading to the Palms via cab around 11pm. He met us at the entrance to the Palms, escorted us into Rain, and lead us up the elevator to our VIP table overlooking the stage area set up for Paul Oakenfold. It was amazing! The two girls and guy we met earlier arrived just before midnight and our host went down to get them and lead us to our table. At that point, we collected the money from everyone and gave it to our host. Our waitress came over and we ordered our bottle from her with our choice of mixers. We had the option of buying more bottles if we wanted to but we took our time finishing the one bottle and never decided to buy another. The staff at Rain never bothered us about buying more bottles or warned us about having to leave our table. We were worried that this could happen but it was never an issue. Anyway, meeting the 1 bottle minimum that was agreed on allowed us to keep our VIP table for the night. We had an absolute blast at Rain and Paul Oakenfold was amazing!

I flew home on Sunday and when I got home, I checked my email and sure enough there was an email from Michael thanking us for using his company. I cannot thank Michael enough for helping us out this past weekend. He was always flexible with us and was willing to make changes if our needs or plans changed. The whole process with every event went so smoothly and my friend and I both felt the cost was well worth it for the experiences we had.

I know people on this board have their doubts about Michael/Mr. Las Vegas (host) and are upset about his frequent posts on this board. Like I mentioned earlier, I had my doubts going in and feared that going through a poorly managed company would ruin my Las Vegas vacation. I was willing to give Michael a chance to show me what he could do and decided to hold my opinion of both he and his company until the weekend was over. I can honestly say that Michael met our needs from beginning to end and helped provide us with a Vegas experience I won't soon forget.

Thanks again to Michael and his company for helping us out. I would recommend him to anyone looking for some guidance or assistance in planning their Vegas vacation. If you have some doubts about him like I did, I suggest that you give him a chance and use his services and form your opinions afterwords. I took a chance with Michael and was provided with professional customer service and amazing experiences at a cost that fit well within my budget. If I return to Vegas, I would use Michael again and would suggest anyone else to give him an opportunity to take care of your needs.

Great review Erik! This is the type of stuff we like to see. There was some great detail there.

Michael may not be a spelling bee champ but it looks like he knows what he is doing when it comes to hosting. I'm glad to see positive reviews for any service on this site.

How was the party at Moorea can you give some more detail? I'm trying to figure out the pool scene myself and want to go somewhere fun but without ridiculous hassles. Thanks!

Moorea Beach Club was a lot of fun and I'd highly recommend it, especially to guys due to the European (topless) sunbathing that they allow. It's fairly small to provide an intimate and relaxed pool party vibe. The venue consists of a main rectangular pool with a raised area behind it with daybeds and cabanas. On the other side of the pool is a second level with the bar, the DJ booth, and a rectangular hot tub. There is a sandy area off to the side of the main pool that has more daybeds and cabanas.

The crowd was young and a mix of guys and ladies. Many of the ladies were sunbathing, swimming, or just walking around topless. Most of them were very attractive. Also, the waitstaff there were all females that looked stunning. Again, I'd highly recommend Moorea for anyone looking for a private, relaxed pool party vibe. For guys, seeing beautiful ladies swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing topless never hurts either

This is getting a little ridiculous. Is this a Jack Colton Forum on Las Vegas Nightlife or a Forum on how sweet Michael (aka Mr Las Vegas) is?

          This is ridiculous

How sweet can this guy truly be?? He speaks with no specifics ever, just "PM Me for details" I have yet to hear someone state how much money they have saved or exactly what he has done. I am willing to bet that this Michael guy has more than one screen name and giving himself the sweet-poor grammar reviews. I am calling him out on this because the spelling in the reviews is just as bad as his spelling in his "Pm me" posts.

Yeah, if this guy was so awesome I don't think he'd be in forums all day begging people to PM him.

k97jw04 and mpbear14...I wrote the review in this post simply to share my experience using Michael/Mr. Las Vegas this past weekend. I am only trying to provide an honest account of what took place simply to help out Michael and to encourage people to give him a chance. If my experience using Michael was absolutely dreadful, I definitely would have posted something here to warn everyone. Since my experience was a positive one, I figured I'd share it with people here in the forums so that they may be more willing to give Michael a chance and reserve judgement until their trip to Vegas is complete.

Also, I can assure you both that I am NOT Michael. I had the opportunity to meet both Chappstick (an Administrator on these forums) and Jack Colton himself at Tao on Thursday night and both of them can testify that Michael and I are not the same person.

mpbear14...did you even read my review? If you did, please point out examples of my supposedly consistent poor spelling and poor grammar. I consider myself a decent writer and think the review is fairly well written. Also, I think I provided a lot of detail in my review regarding what Michael was able to offer us so I'm wondering what more you want to know? If you have something against Michael, then that's your problem but I don't understand what your issue is with me.

RockStarErik,...I have nothing against you and your review was detailed. However, its getting to the point where we are seeing these stellar reviews on Michael and his services a little too frequent. I think its unprofessional for a "Nightlife Promoter / Manager" to be hounding people in forums to PM him. I have not responded the times he has emailed me because he provides no information and its usually a generic email saying he needs my phone number and first and last name.

For example, I post a specific question such as "What clubs are best to go to on Thursday night for bottle service?" Some forum readers respond and give good input, then Michael answers with a response like "I can get you a great deal at any club, PM me for details." How does that response help me or anyone else reading these messages. I don't think this forum was created in hopes that these 3rd party VIP hosts would be responding to everyone and offering their services. With responses like this the credibility of the entire forum is diminished because (as mpbear mentioned) people don't know if they're reading the truth or if the responder has their own agenda.

If I knew nothing about jackcolton.com and randomly started reading this forum I would think Mr Las Vegas was working in partnership with Colton to try and get some business. I know this isn't the case, I'm just giving an example.

In my opinion, a separate forum should be created where 3rd parties can promote their services. Therefore as someone planning a trip to Vegas, if I was thinking about using a 3rd party, I could go to that forum and see what companies are out there. I respect the fact that they're working hard, but they should not be promoting their business in this forum.

                  If I could give a better response than k97jw04 I would, but I can't.

For the record, I have nothing against you either. I was trying to also make a point. Your review was one of the better written reviews. However, if you go on other threads and read the reviews about Michael, they sound eerily similar, plus poor grammar.

k97jw04, I agree with you on many of the points that you made. I like your suggestion about creating a separate forum on this site for 3rd parties to filter out the frequent posts that keep popping up in the main Nightlife/Daylife forum. I have no problem with promoters, companies, hosts, etc. offering their services and will try to help them out if I used them and had a positive experience. However, I agree that there should be a separate forum for these people to use so that these boards don't turn into one big advertising site. I don't think that was Jack's intention when he created this website. Perhaps we can contact Jack and the other Admins and see what they have to say.

for what its worth, I can vouch for Erik and this seems to be a legimate review, as for k97s request, its def a good on and I am contacting JC and chappy to see if we could set that up to keep stuff separate and not interfere with people not looking to use a 3rd party.

First post, but I am skeptical just like many other senior members. I use to frequent LV a lot, and I always did all the ground work myself to avoid being duped. I am cautiously optimistic of Mr. Las Vegas' claims and the reviews posted. Hopefully before I visit in June or July, I hope to get some senior members' personal reviews.
