Bars and Lounge's in DOWNTOWN las vegas recommendations

We all have our favorite spots on the strip but downtown is hardly ever talked about. Ive actually been hearing that downtown is starting to develop it's own scene and that's there's some real nice lounges and bars that locals would like to keep to themselves.
We wanted to switch things up and hit up a few of these places. Any recommendations?

There's a dive bar in downtown called Atomic something...

It's a place that has like $1 beers.

well for a $1 it's worth checking out. But I was was wondering about places like "Downtown coctail room".

Well if you decide to check it out it's Atomic Liquors at 917 Fremont in downtown past the Western.

let us know how it goes if you try it out, just be careful roaming around outside of fremont in the downtown area especially after "cocktails" could be a little dangerous

Once you get outside the canopy area I would think so. A few years back my wife and I took the Duece to downtown. Was not a pleasant experience.

Good Diggers Nightclub

I would suggest Good Diggers Nightclub. i posted a review already on this place but here is another one for ya;

Don't see the correlation? Did we forget to mention that the club's name is Gold Diggers? Ah, there it is.

In fact, you're likely to hear some Kanye West during your night, or some Justin Timberlake or some Prince. Or some...really you're likely to hear just about anything you can dance to.

The club, part of the Golden Nugget's $60 million expansion project, is one of the newest pieces in Downtown's blossoming nightlife scene and brings its own unique atmosphere to the party.

Spread out in a long, skinny, vaguely rectangular shape, Gold Diggers offers a killer patio with a killer view at the front (from the club's second-story location, you get a look at the Fremont Street Experience, both the people and the awesome show on the canopy overhead) and space for a DJ and the accompanying dancing crowds in the back.

A red-backed bar, complete with cute ladies dancing atop it, runs about half the length of the inside space, while a square bar keeps those on the patio from going thirsty.

And with all the great music pouring from Gold Diggers' speakers, it would be a shame to not have a little space for some hip-shaking. Luckily, a sizeable dance floor sits near the stage in the back.

Gold Diggers isn't the largest club around, but it works to the benefit of the crowd. In the more intimate space, you can have a conversation (although, let's be honest, you might still have to raise your voice a little) and the view from the patio goes a long way toward making things feel open and not cramped.

If the view just isn't doing it for you -- really? -- there are television screens scattered around the club playing music videos and if you happen to see Kanye up there, strutting his stuff, you can raise your glass and disagree: being a gold digger isn't so bad after all.

Downtown is actually pretty awesome! It's definately not the same as the strip however everything is much closer together and not as expensive. If your into gambling they tend to have way lower limits than every else on the strip. I remember playing $3 switch black jack at the Fitz for about 3 hours and I had bought in for like $30 and got a ton of "free" drinks! I've never really partied downthere cause I end up sitting at different cheap blackjack tables for hours. Gold Diggers usually seems to be going off. So if your looking not too walk as much to get from place to place or to gamble at lower limits and get cheaper drinks I'd say you definately have to check it out!

I have a friend who got banned from there lol! 5$ blackjack is pretty chill though. Only problem is getting there from the Strip, since taking the Deuce can be a pain in the ass.

LOL. C.Cs call the casino the "Sweaty Spaniard". Easy to spread dude to the low mins, but the pit watches like a hawk. My buddy had been going there on almost every Vegas trip, and he'd been warned off a couple times. I think he just got too greedy.... Nothing like spreading from 20 to 400 dollars when you're already up about $1000

Haha. My father/mother-in-law absolutely love EL CORTEZ. We took them them up to Vegas on there last anniversary and we ended up there every morning. My wife won a little over 400 dollars playing there 25 cent roulette table, yes, 25 cent. Poker there is allot of fun too.
I'll be sure not to count cards there.. lol
