Reserving dinner at 9:30 for an easy club entrance at 10 + No Cover.

I've read from somewhere you can eat dinner somewhere at a place with a night club, and then be right there in the club when it opens without waiting in a line, paying cover, or dealing with a bouncer. I think I've heard of Tao, Lavo, and the Rum Jungle. Anyone ever do this. I rather use my cover charge on food and not wait in line

Oh and other thing. If your at your table, couldn't you just stay and keep ordering drinks as long as you keep ordering???

I believe TAO is the only one worth mentioning. However, TAO is a spot that I think bottle service is a must. You can get away with a 1 bottle minimum there too, but your location will be in the lounge area.

Tao is the main one, but the sitting at the dinner table won't really help, the club action is upstairs.

When I ate dinner at one of the light group restaurants in the Mirage (name escapes me), I mentioned I would be going to Jet after and the waiter wrote me up a card for free entry. Had to use other means to bypass the line though.

Just eat dinner there and when you're ready, they'll stamp your hand and you can go to the club, skip line and all, at your convenience. The restaurant is separate from the rest of the club, but then you can roll into the club later.

Well ive done this at Rio.. for voodoo lounge.. but then again its not TAO restaurant/club. You pay for your meal and you use your receipt to get in.

I prefer to have a spot to sit etc. I realize it's probably not much traffic downstairs. In your opinion, if it's one bottle lounge or no bottles and we chill upstairs all night getting jostled around, which would you recommend?

I personally haven't gotten BS at the lounge area, but a buddy of mines who just came back from Vegas did. He told me it was the worst experience with BS ever. The area is small, barely any traffic. Maybe it was the night he was there, but I personally wouldn't risk it. I would just get a 2nd bottle to be somewhere in the moat area and spend that extra $150pp if its 3 people. OR I would just go to a different club, most likely TRYST and get a 1 bottle min, and still be in a decent area...according to Patrick Frank, the table would be in 700's area which is right next to the dance floor.

Eh, I don't mind. When I go to a club, I go to dance, hang out at the bar, and talk to people; I'm not a big "sit down at clubs" kinda guy.

And Tao is exceptionally crowded, but if I ever feel too stuffy, I just duck into one of the non main rooms or head to the roof for a quick breather.
