I was curious if anyone had any notable experiences with some of the resident DJ's in Vegas.
Feel free to share some of your personal favorites. I am sure the locals will have some input here.
I was at Ghostbar last week and there was a vinyl goddesses spinning there by the name of DJ 88.
Played a lot of classic hip hop; Tupac, Tribe, EPMD, just a bevy of golden era hip hop. I have a penchant for this type of music, so I thought perhaps it was just bias on my part but looking around the lounge last week I saw every head nodding, every guy tapping his feet, every lady.......you get the point.
Some DJ's just have this freaking magic elixir that they open at will. It permeates the club/room and makes everyone (even the bar gargoyles) have an inexplicable desire to move and dance.
This gal had it in spades.
Even my friends who aren't really in to hip hop couldn't help themselves. They were even reminiscing the next day a the pool "Damn, that DJ was freaking sweet"
Whats more, she couldn't have been any nicer when approached. While I was waiting for my drinks, I just stopped by to say thanks for kicking azz all night. She let me chill right by the booth, showed me some of the rarer mixes she had been playing, gave me her card.
So many DJ's today ooze arrogance and indifference and its always a pleasure to run into purists who buck this trend.
She is a resident for the N9ne group and I believe she is at Ghostbar fairly often.
If she is playing a set, I HIGHLY recommend visiting whatever venue she is at.
Beware!
Head Nodding WILL ensure.
