I was just at a bar which i usually go to not to many choices from where I'm from and the bartender remebered me from before, i tipped him pretty well before and so by the end of the night i had 4 beers 4 mixed drinks and 6 shots and at the end of the night the damage was $15 so my question is how far has your $ got you ?

A well placed tip in the beginning of the night has gotten me, free "tester" drinks, messed up order drinks, free beers, and a coveted 'after last call order' Oh, and this Bartender at Fridays always only charges me like $10 no matter how much I drink because I tip her like $20.

One of the bars I go to was testing out Captain Morgan Lime Bite. I'd had a few long conversations with this one bartender, so she was pouring these double Lime Bite's & 7 pretty heavy. The special price was $2/shot, but she basically charged me $2 per double drink.

5 of those later, I stumble out. $10 for 10+ shots of Lime Bite.

In Europe you don't tip bartenders after each drink, just 10-15% on a tab, so tips go along way. We were drinking kamikaze's, and I tipped the bartender 5 euros so we'd get served faster. For the rest of the night not only did he serve me straight away, but rather than giving us shot glasses, he made waaaay more than needed and served them in lowball glasses.

Well, we don't tip over here in australia. Also, drinks are pretty regulated (we have tough liquor licensing policies), so your getting one shot and one shot only in your drink, otherwise you're paying.... so to come to the land where we could buy a 30 pack of budweisers/ any beer for $20 ($40 here for a 24 pack!!) and drinks were virtually free-poured was heaven and dangerous lol.

When we went out, I was always told tipping gets you a long way. One night when we were out in downtown fullerton, we were tipping our bartender pretty well, like we always do ($5 bucks every time we were drinking, and we were pounding them down).
Then we decided to do a shot, a B52 was decided (after at least 5-6 strong vodka RB's). The bartender then rips out a frickin normal glass!! and fills it 3 quarters full!!!!
And what do we do instead of sipping on it?? in aussie terms we just 'necked it'

Next thing i remember is waking up in my room with my mate...my camera..... and my angels shirt i got no where to be seen lol.

AAAAAnd then we found out about ADIOS MOTHERFUCKERS in las vegas. Which is short term memory loss in a glass. Seriously! If you're drinking these you aint remembering the night.

Beer is expensive up here in canada also. I love going down to the states to party

haha niice!! Tommys out here treats us well... 8 drinks 2 apps and a burger cost me 17.50 i love it there!!! i threw him 40 on top and calleld it a night... but when your in the industry.. you over tip.. ALWAYS...

There are some bartenders in the city I'm close with and always tip well.

That being said, it's up to their discretion - I've had as little as a free shot here and there, from as much as a $1k tab getting reduced to $30.

That being said, it's up to their discretion - I've had as little as a free shot here and there, from as much as a $1k tab getting reduced to $30.
