I just posted this in the hotel forum also, didn't realize it was already in here.
This could be a huge deal - if HRCI wins the lawsuit (and it looks like they easily could), the name of the hotel will have to be permanently changed to something else.

If that's the case, then whatever the NEW name is going to be, they better keep providing Twitter Tuesday specials.
Interesting. I don't think I could stomach Rehab. I'm certain it would be like going to Meixcan strip club. Funny for about 20 minutes then kind of sad and depressing.
What I'd like to know is if the company made any kind of effort to stop the show or the pool party prior to filing the lawsuit.
Am I the only one that walks into a Subway and says, "It smells like O'Shea's in here."
was appalled by your 'Little Hitler' Matt -- the so-called manager...... your sorry butts should be sued by your employees for allowing and creating a hostile work environment, and sexual harassment!!??!!''
I've been on both sides of the service industry for over 20 years and i can tell you i hadn't seen behavior like his since the '80's. that shit will get you sued.
while the tv show was clearly scripted, it almost singularly offered a great deal in it's representing vegas daylife on a regular basis. one has to think it was beginning to find footing as far as representing the current debauchery of vegas to tv viewers weekly, 3 months a year, which was a good thing.
as far as the property goes, the name has served them well, but they could probably spend the same on some type of rebranding and do well for themselves.
"Hedonism Vegas" could be had for a pittance, no?
Protect yourself at all times
once you understand The Way broadly, you can see it in all things
I don't mind the pool party at all! The TV show is completely scripted and over the top. Not saying that over the top things doesn't happen at Rehab the pool party. Its kind of the appeal for the party crowd
This is just yet another ridiculous irony in how the new HRH President runs the property. It is widely known that he is trying to change the look of the hotel and, by appearances at least, show that he is making an effort to clean up any drug use and prostitution on premise.
But then he allows a production company to come in and completely script and setup scenes for a nationally broadcast television show that makes it look like the hotel is filled with criminals, drunks, thieves, and aggressively rude staff.
Not to mention, Real World is now filming there, too.
**Yes, this isn't the first season, but he also came in before this one started and this one is far more "extreme" than last year.

I was just thinking this also - both HRH and MTV are going to be screwed if there is a name change.
MTV is going to have to cut around any reference to "Hard Rock" which will result in awkward edits and exterior shots of the building framed to not show any signs. Considering they have already started shooting, this would be a big production hassle for them, and it also hurts their advertising dollars if they can't market the show as being "shot at The Hard Rock Hotel".
HRH is screwed because all the concessions they gave MTV to get the expected publicity are going to be for nothing if there's no shots of the signs or other references to remind viewers where it's happening.

What a cluster.
True, but they can still just show generic shots of the strip. I can see them working around that.
