Bookit.com has a mysterday deal for 129/159 for a 5 diamond hotel in the middle of the strip..

I was very hesitant to book this because i was afraid it was some crappy ass hotel. But I did my research and the only 5 diamond hotels in the center of the strip is bellagio, venetian and the palazzo. So that already had me interested. As I was checking out. it said the resort fee is 17$. Bellagio doesn't have any resort fees, so i just took the chance, and venetian was the mystery hotel. not bad for 159.

I never knew Palazzo and Venetian were considered "middle of strip." I always figured North Strip but I guess different websites can categorize differently.

Can't remember who said this (it was somewhere on this site) but he categorize that area as 'the tip of the spear'. I like it.
