Is this a dress code no no?

So a guy who is part of my weekend outing/ splurge to Vegas is new to the club scene and he is convinced that he will be fine wearing tennis shoes to a club.

The shoes in question are WHITE adidas superstars (link below) and we will be oging to one of the top tier clubs (one of the Wynn clubs, Tao..ect)


Is this guy making a mistake?

Tao's the toughest in my experience in terms of dress code.

Most cases it's a no go on white tennis shoes , BUT if you're getting table service (and if I remember correctly, getting 5 bottles), then it's usually a non issue. Still would try to convince him out of it though.

It's not worth getting denied entry to a top club (especially if you've just wasted a ton of time waiting in line) to be able to wear a pair of tennis shoes.... tell him to get a nice pair of shoes.

It depends on the club, your reservation and your relationship with the host. I wear white True Religion sneakers all the time, just this wed i was at surrender with them. If your doing 5 bottles, wear what ever you want (tao being an exception, they even give me shit about my chucks (ive never been told i couldnt come in, just told to not wear them again)). If you have a good relationship with the host you booked with, then these issues dont come up.

Also, if you reallly wanna wear tennis shoes... wear black ones as they are easier to overlook as dress shoess. I used to wear black sneakers to the vegas clubs back in the day all the time and never was questioned about it.

I wouldn't recommend it. If you even have to ask if it's appropriate, then I'm pretty sure you know the answer. I've seen a lot of people get shut down for tennis shoes. Why even risk it?

People get away with a bunch of things. but if you're not confident you're one of those guys, don't risk it.

Although, I usually chance wearing black adidas or something the last night of partying, well... because my feet hurt after 4 nights.

Unless you're poppin bottles, its a no go... Been turned back in regular entry because I had a friend in tennis shoes. But, I had a friend in chucks on a separate occasion get in, cuz we had bottle service... So, it all depends on what line you're in.

Totally depends. If they feel like giving you a hard time, they can. But you'll definitely see people in the clubs with gym shoes on. I just would rather not deal with it and choose to wear nice shoes.

I wrote this so my friend could see (via your replies) that I wasnt the only person out there who thinks he is being stupid.

I always tell my friends to wear whatever they want, but if you get denied your on your own. Find us in the club. lol Ive learned that if you tell them not to wear something, 90% of the time there gonna see someone else wearing it in the club, and then you have to hear them bitch all night.
