Has anyone actually gone for a night here and partied? Any experiences? Fun or not? Good crowd or hugely lame disappointment?

I went in... 2007? Had just thrown up from the afternoon of drinking, was solo for the night, staying in NYNY, still newbie-ish for Vegas clubs, and didn't really feel like hitting up a nice venue. So, yeah... That tell you anything about the place?

This was the very first club that I went to my first time in Vegas. To be honest I was with a large group of dudes(half of them were lame) and we still had a pretty good time there. Its smaller than most clubs, practically no line and played house music. So you could definately have a good time here.

Went on a Wed in may '09 w/free passes mgm gave us as part of a one night package. The place is a precise replica of the 54 you've seen in movies. It was more crowded than we expected, and a decent time if you can skip the cover or have a big group or are staying on property and are sick of their other spots.

I cant for the life of me figure out why its still open? It was the first of the big, strip hotel dance clubs, I think it opened in the mid 90s (not sure). It used to be great, then good, then acceptable....and that was at least 6-7 years ago. They did have something good on Tuesdays for a while, but if youre thinking on a weekend, I'd skip it, unless you can get in free and just want to take a quick look before heading elsewhere.

You'd think the MGM would want to join in on the "arms race" with all the other hotels.

54 will always have a place in my heart. Back when I started going to Vegas in 2001 and 2002 it was one of the few places you could really go. Tuesday nights there used to be amazing. Been a couple of years since I've been there, but I've never not had a good time in there. Even on nights it was slow. But, I'm sure the nostalgia plays a part for me.

When i went in 2004, had a great time, place was packed, couple sections upstairs and downstairs, with fun crowd all over. Had a good time.

Went on a friday feb 2008, quick short line, most of the upstairs sections were roped off and empty, keeping people to the main bar/dance floor which was still kind packed, but the crowd wasn't the greatest. Had a decent time..
Walked by the next night on my way to Rok, and the line was like 20 times longer than the night before. Dunno how it's changed the past 2 years
