What's everyones opinion of hotwire.com? Can you be pretty confidant of the hotels being as they are advertised? Also, there'd be no cancellation available if something better came up. Thanks for the help.
Anyone use hotwire?

That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

Las Vegas was good. Hell of a ship, hell of a crew.

Hotwire for Vegas is pretty risky because they don't tell you what hotel you will stay at until you pay.
So if you are picking the 4.5 stars North Strip location, don't be too surprised when you're staying at the Trump Hotel.

this is a link to a forum that lists what hotels people have won in the past, listed by location and star rating. obviously it is not guaranteed but i have used it for Priceline hotel bids many times and it has always been accurate for me.Originally posted by BSM View PostHotwire for Vegas is pretty risky because they don't tell you what hotel you will stay at until you pay.

I did use Travelocity.com secret hotel deals for this coming friday and got the Las Vegas Hilton for $40.... I am not using it tho cuz we are staying at the Trop instead...
Im not sure how good of a deal you can get in vegas tho... I have been able to get really good deals in other cities but not so much vegas...next trip... DEC 5-10 2012

I've used Hotwire in a couple places. If you have an Entertainment Book, there is a rebate in it too for Hotwire.
Better Bidding should be able to help you ID the hotel basd on the amenities and the resort fee. You can get some really good deals, especially in the 4* or 5* categoies.

I use hotwire ALL THE TIME and LOVE it!!! i booked Venetian for Labor Day Weekend at $99/night Thursday-Monday. Just don't book the "North Strip 5* CONDO" and you're good. The CONDO is the Trump but the "North Strip 5* Hotel" has always been Venetian, Palazzo or Wynn for me. I've booked Venetian twice, Palazzo once, and Wynn twice through Hotwire this year, never paid more than $150.00 a night (before taxes) and it was always a Friday/Saturday night other than Labor Day Weekend when i stayed a Thursday and Sunday night too. I've always used www.betterbidding.com and they have been spot on. I've actually learned from that site how to narrow it down to two hotels pretty much everytime myself without having to post on the forum and wait for replies, and it's always between like Venetian and Palazzo or Venetian and Wynn, win-win in my opinion!"Cause when I get my card back activated I'm back to Vega$$"

Yeah. Too late, I was playing around and got the Palazzo though. I think they're pretty good to a degree. I'd try again in the future.Originally posted by FlyIsForever View PostDont do it was playing around on priceline thinking I would get HRH or PH and ended up with the Westin! I repeat beware of the bidding sites. I just hope my bank can stop the transaction! That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

I am way more comfortable doing Hotwire than I am doing Priceline. If you play it smart you won't have issues. If you do a North Strip 5* hotel it has to be Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn or Encore. It can't be Trump cause that is a Condo not a Hotel. I would take any of those hotels in a second, so 4/4 is a no lose situation when I am booking. But if you do Near Near Strip East 4* Hotel thinking it's HRH you could get the Hilton, Renaissance or Westin instead. 1/4 isn't a good average even in Baseball.Originally posted by FlyIsForever View PostDont do it was playing around on priceline thinking I would get HRH or PH and ended up with the Westin!
