Help Needed for Nightclub Newbie

I have read through a number of the posts here and thought the best way to get an answer would be to explain my situation. So keeping it short - my best friend and I (both females) are turning 30 and headed to Vegas to celebrate together. We will be there in september 2010 from tuesday night to friday morning...

Anyways, wanting to go out definitely wednesday night - possibly thursday - love to glam it up with dresses and super stilettos - so which club is the best place to be? I was considering LAX until I saw some posts about LAVO... sad but true this won't be my first time in Vegas - but the first time going to a nightclub.

Also - I saw LAVO on wednesdays is 'Fashion Night'... what the hell does that mean?!? I mean I'm getting dressy but don't want to be too overdressed!

Best places for Wednesday are Surrender and Wasted Space (for however long it's still open). I'd go with Surrender.

So no Lavo or LAX huh? Curiousity - why?

I'm sure those are good too. But Surrender's been getting a lot of good reviews on the boards lately and it seems to be top tier, while LAX is still considered 2nd tier. Lavo would probably be good too, but is a bit small. I'm sure they'd all be good, but Surrender is new and getting all the praise for now.

OKay - I will check it out. So tell me - I see all these things for not standing in live or paying cover - how is this done? Calling ahead for Guest List? Don't you still have to wait in line to be on the guest list? We don't want bottle service as I'm sure we will check out a few clubs to make the most of our time there. I also saw a few package deals you can get where they take you from one club to the next - are these worth it?
