Quick two Questions...

NYE - How crazy is Vegas on New Years?

Looking at hotel prices, its pretty nuts, You can't even book rooms on Expedia for the Encore or the Wynn, and the Encore website is quoting 453 a night. Yowsers, i love that place but not that much.

I appreciate we haven't hit labour day yet, but a guy has to plan so what's the deal? Is it out of control absolutely must be there or hit and miss?

Its one of, if not the biggest events of the year in Vegas. Other than the superbowl or CES, I don't know what would bring in more people. Couple that with the fact that NYE falls on a Friday night this year will multiple the wildness. Everyone will want to arrive wednesday or thursday and leave on Sunday.

strip gets shut down, fireworks off the rooftops, black tie events, crazy club promotions, high table limits, packed restaurants and hotels.

So if you're up for the crowd and a bit more out of pocket to be there for the experience, go for it. But, I would guess that between room rates, airfare, and spending cash, you could go two or three times throughout the year for the amount you'll drop over NYE.

Vegas is the shit for NYE!! we had a nice size group of AOD peeps last year... Good times!

yeah encore/wynn and venetian/palazzo are going at about $500 a night. i already booked for nye over at planet hollywood for about $300 a night. Saving where I can. I also think Jack is trying to plan something relatively cheap compared to what the clubs are charging for that weekend for AOD people
