Party suggestions needed

Hi fellow party-lovers,

I need your help/suggestions.

There's this small club in my hometown Mannheim which has just had it's 40th anniversary. It once was one of the most famous clubs in germany. A real celebrity hot-spot.

But it aged and now there are no more celebrities and the ppl going there are not as classy as they used to be.

They're now completely remodeling the interior for the 40th anniversary-party and came to me and a friend to bring up a new party-concept for the club.

they're open on 3 nights.
Thursday which is "student night" and the club is filled with the right people.

Saturday: which is also a good night.

The problems are the fridays and this is where we should come up with a new concept to fill the club with the right people.

They don't charge cover but the drinks are more expensive than they are in other clubs in Mannheim, so because of this and because the venue is pretty small, they're not able to book famous and expensive DJ's.

They also want to add a 4th night where they'll be open and we should also find a concept for that night.

I already have some ideas but it would be great if anyone could add a suggestion. It should be something that has never been in Mannheim before.

Working in the industry I know the feeling of coming up with ideas for new/revamped nights.
An idea we toyed around with in the past was 'Kamikaze Karaoke', the basic concept is that potential singers put their name and desired song into respective pots at the start of the night, and as the night goes on the DJ/Compere draws a name out, and the chosen song of someone else at random.
Potentially you keep people in the venue longer as the singing isn't on a '1st come 1st sing' basis, and when you get a no-neck doorman singing 'Celine Dion- My Heart Will Go On' instead of his choice of 'Meat Loaf- Bat Out Of Hell', a comedy aspect is introduced (if all parties have a sense of humour!!)
Plus you don't have to spend big money on Superstar DJ's
