and aficionados. A friend of mine decided to pop the question and set the date pretty close. Now we're scrambling getting things together to come out to Vegas. Our options are mid to late Dec, or early Jan. NYE isnt an option unfortunately.

So my question is would we see huge difference in the crowd when comparing the week before xmas to the week after nye? The week before xmas is pricing at about 125pp less

I have no person experience in LV during these times, but from what I have heard right before Christmas is the slowest time. Depending on what kind of experience you're looking for that could be a good or a bad thing. I'd imagine right before and especially right after NYE things kick into gear. I have heard the same and know some restaurants and shows also have blackout dates in Dec. I would go after NYE.

I come up from SD every year the week before Christmas. Coming home around the 23rd. Clubs will often be closed, a lot of shows will be dark and even some restaurants will be closed. BUT not all. There will still be many things open and entertainment options. Check the various sites and you will be fine. To give a idea on the rates back in 06 we got r/t air and 3 nights at the wynn for $350/person double occupancy. Will probably be cheaper this year.

I've actually been there the week before Christmas. Some stuff is closed but you can definitely find stuff to do.

It's about 75% Vegas.

I've been on many times during Christmas. Yes, lots of places are closed, but not all. Still people there and can have lots of fun still especially since you can be sure you won't have hassle getting into clubs (if they're open) and won't be fighting your way through a crowd just to walk a few feet to the bar or dancefloor.

I've been the weekend after nye, still busy. Still fun, just colder , specially at ghost bar!

My wife and I were there last year the weekend before Christmas. Stayed at Rio- wasn't too busy, a few dark restaurants and shows, there but the strip seemed ok. The Palms clubs were busy Friday night and Tao was packed on Saturday night. It was kind of nice being able to move about the strip and go places without the town being jammed for a convention, etc.

We actually just booked flights earlier this week via Delta (free thanks to some frequent flier miles) for the same weekend but three nights this time around and staying on the strip somewhere. Hotels are crazy cheap that weekend too which leaves more cash for bottle service, a show, and the sports book. We have some other couples lined up this time around so it should prove to be a more exciting trip. A great getaway from the kids and work before Christmas hits!
