My wife and I are traveling down to Vegas to celebrate my 30th birthday with 2 other couples over Labor Day Weekend. The girls were all really looking forward to hitting up Moorea Beach Club for some topless sunbathing, but we've recently found out that it's no longer allowed! This is very annoying, because we booked at the Mandalay just for Moorea, and the laid-back atmosphere there seemed like a perfect fit for us... But anyway, we can't let that get us down. Now we just have to find a replacement.
We're not after an insane pool party -- all of us are couples after all, and the girls in the party may be a little shy if the place is packed like sardines with drunken frat boys. but at the same time, we don't want to end up at place full of 50-something topless grandmas. Since we're so new at this, I'm really paranoid about picking a place that will leave a bad taste in our mouth, especially since we're probably going to drop a couple hundred each to cover a day bed rental & drinks.
Our target pool date for this is Friday, 9/3, right after we get off the plane (land in Vegas at 10:00 AM). From there it's straight to the pool. I've been digging through forum posts & internet site reviews, and so far, it seems like there are a couple of pools that will get us what we're after. The two at the top of my list are Bare @ the Mirage and Venus @ Caesar's.
We're looking at daybed rental prices ($650, min F/B at Bare, or $400 rental only at Venus). I think we'd save money with the 6 of us at Bare, but if it's only $100-$200 difference then that's not a major factor. The atmosphere & experience at the pool is the most important thing for the decision.
Am I leaving any pools off my search list that might offer a not-super-crazy atmosphere + topless sunbathing?
