    hi,
my girlfriends (from NYC) and i haven't been to vegas together in about 5 yrs, and i'm getting a little confused about all of our options:
    1) i'm wondering if this time (because we are closer to 40 than 30 now) we should skip the clubs on friday & saturday and just go to "ultra lounges"?
2)if so, which lounges/clubs do you recommend for my birthday celebration? we will be staying at the aria in the sky suites and would like to stay close to home if possible
    3) can i trust the sky suites concierge to be reliable in arranging bottle service for the 10 of us at a club or lounge or do i need to enlist the help of a host?
thx so much for your expertise!

welcome and the sky suites were amazing when i went. make sure you take advantage of the free drinks at the lounge inside the vip lobby/check-in. Just go down when you need a drink made and just tip the person making it for you.

about the club scene. it is all up to you and your girls. the clubs range very well from 21 and up to who knows where. it just depends whether you and your girls are up for the party scene that certain club or clubs in general have.

haze inside aria itself is a pretty upscale club so you would probably enjoy it. You could do ultra lounges, those i've never really been to any so i can't really recommend but the concierge shouldn't have a problem. Try to speak to Kelsey at the concierge when you call. She is really helpful when she helped me. and when you ask them for help with bottle service they send you to a direct host at that specific venue for you two to arrange the night and what you want for that night.

As much as it pains me to say it, I'm 38 now but still enjoy the Vegas club scene. My favs would be XS, Tryst & Blush, great clubs with the best mix of young and old so you won't feel like you're at the frat house. You'd have to cab it because it's at the other end of the strip but it's worth the ride. Haze & Vanity are also fine for us 30 somethings.

I always have a great time at the ulta lounges. Tabu at MGM and Mix & Eye Candy at Mandalay Bay are good choices and close to your home base. The Voodoo Lounge at the Rio, Ghost Bar at the Palms and Love at the Mirage are also nice options.

No way. I believe clubs at the Wynn/ Encore specifically cater to the 30 somethings money crowd. Don't skip out for that simple reason. Post a pic.. I m sure you ladies are hot :-)

Thx SO SO much for all of the advice about the clubs and the sky suites! I think we will just go ahead and get bottle service at a club one night (maybe at Haze so we won't have to deal with cabs, etc unless there is another club at a hotel close by you would recommend). I was also thinking of doing a "bar crawl" one night after dinner to check out some of the new lounges/bars at Aria/City Center since it will be our first time there. Does that make any sense or is everything extremely spread out and will we regret walking all over the place in heels?

One more question: pool scene at Aria. Are the poolside cabanas "upscale" with good amenities/service on a Saturday or do we NEED to rent chairs or a cabana at Liquid? We'll be there early October.

Just stayed at the Aria a week ago. Can't say much about the clubs/lounges in the actual hotel, because we never went to any of them. The guys working the door at Gold were pretty rude from what I remember, so we just turned around and left. There aren't many bars/clubs to "hop" to. There are the typical casino bars, Deuce might have been promising, it's kind of a lounge, but again, we just walked by on our way to the Bellagio.

The rest of city center seemed pretty dead. Vdara was open, but was REALLY quiet. No casino, not sure if there would be any lounges there at all. The Mandarin Oriental looked open, but I couldn't see an easy way to get to it (didn't really try too hard), and I have no idea what is there.

My recommendation if you're going to do bottle service/lounge/club....head to the Bellagio. It is a REALLY short and easy walk from Aria straight through Vdara. Everyone we asked said it was most definitely faster to walk than to take a cab. There is also a tram that runs by the Aria, you could always take that to bounce around from place to place and maybe save your feet a bit.

As for the pool scene. We didn't go to Liquid. Stayed at the regular hotel pool (there are actually 3 separate pools) all weekend and were totally content. I'd recommend staying away from the one pool w/ the shallower end. That's where all the kids were. As for the cabanas, they were dead. They are totally enclosed, which I thought was weird. Made them look really dark inside. They consist of a couch, tv, small table with a couple chairs, and that's it. Not too impressive. Here are some pics:

Also, as far as I understood, the cost of the cabana rental at the regular pool was for real estate only, it didn't include food/beverage. The small (12oz) mixed drinks are $14 there and the large (32oz) are $22. So, remember to tack that on to the cost of the cabana for the day... In my opinion, totally not worth it to just stay at the regular pool.
Oh, P-tr-ck, I STILL need to borrow your German Leg Breaking Machine....Thx.

Im getting some consistent feed back from members that Haze/Gold has some very rude staff. Thats something I need to keep note of when I go to Liquid this time around.

When I think of Haze...I think that it's just a huge hassle. Always hard to get into and when you get in...it isn't fun.

haha yea i know, its one thing when you work that hard and get in and have a blast so its worth it. Its another to get hassled again once you are in there.. for apparently "texting in the wrong area of the club" LMFAO

Thx for the info about Bellagio being so close to Aria. Am I wrong to assume that it will be easy enough for the concierge to set up bottle service for us that day when we decide where we're going?

Re: Liquid, I'm not sure we'll need real estate to hang out there all day, but we might want to go in to check it out for a while. Will we need to pay a cover on a Friday or Saturday (10 girls)?

Its better you get in touch with the club's host yourself to setup bottle service then to rely on a 3rd party. Also chances are they might have a reason to charge some type of fee for that service which you can easily do yourself.

I doubt 10 girls would require cover anywhere they go. If you want to be on the safe side, split up the group of girls in 2 or 3 groups. Also get in touch with the hosts ahead of time to set that up as well. All of the host information is listed on the main page of our site.

As long as you get in touch with a person...a party of all girls will probably never have to pay cover.

Thanks so much for all of the advice. Ok, last question (for now, anyway). Is Columbus Day weekend considered a busy weekend in Vegas?
