Saturday nights: Good club vs Long lines

First time posting and this site is fantastic. Tons of amazing information and many informed posters here so I'm hopin to get a lil info/advice here.

Coming to vegas on the 27th - 29th for a friend's 21st bday. She wants to hit a club on Saturday night.

Reading around it seems there will be a crazy line no matter where we go. We'd prefer not to wait 2 hours but not sure we have the budget for bottle service.

It seems the giant clubs like Tao or XS will have insane lines.

Is a place like LAVO worth trying? it seems they tend to have shorter lines according to the site. It's a smaller club but will it still fill up with a crowded dance floor? I would hate to take her someplace where everyone sits around and watches 8 drunk people lose their minds on the dance floor.

Or should we just show up at a big club scary early and hope for a short wait?

Group will be a minimum of 5 (3f 2m) with potential of about 8 or 9 (still more girls than guys).

You really don't have to do a so called "Mega Club" on a weekend to have a great time. Yes, the lines at Tao & XS will be insane. Reality, you can have a blast just about anywhere in Vegas on a friday or saturday night. Even the so-called ultra lounges like Tabu, Love, Mix and Eye Candy that some people on this site would laugh at, are good times. I would pick out a few clubs and call them to get on their guest list, shouldn't be a problem for a group of ladies. Be sure to mention that it's your friend's B.D., that always helps Have Fun!

Contact one of the promoters, show up around 11 pm with your group, grease a little bit, and you'll get in without paying too much or waiting too long.

Lavo is definately worth trying ive heard good things but if you do decide to try to get into one of the "mega" clubs of saturday night... here's a trick of the trade....

go on the TAO website and book a dinner reservation there the night you want to go. Go eat dinner there around 7-8. Before you leave/pay the check, ask your waiter/waitress for a stamp for re-entry to the club later on that night. go back to your room, change, pregame, then head back to venetian around 11-1130 and go into the re-entry line and enter the club w/o waiting in the massive 2 hour line that wraps around the 2nd floor of the venetian and not pay any cover charge for the night.

In addition to the great advice here, keep in mind that some users here have KINDA become somewhat "Vegas snobs" per se. Meaning that we're trying to hit the hottest clubs on the best nights. This doesn't mean that other places that most users here don't frequent aren't poppin.

Like someone has already said, its Vegas, there's a ton of people and most don't even know what are the hottest clubs on which nights. *You can go to places like LAX, Christian Audigier, Haze, voodo lounge, etc and still have a crazy fun time

Waiting isn't TOO big a deal, I just don't want to wait somethin crazy like 2 hours.

We will have been drinking already and the idea of jumping in and out of line to use the bathroom while waiting to get into a club just sounds miserable lol.

If I have to wait 30 to 45 mins that's not a big deal.

If you go early enough (around 9:30-10:30) lines don't tend to go beyond that long of a wait. Similar in my experience with going a bit later say 1:30ish. But then again, sometimes lines just suck. In that case, contact hosts here before hand or find nicely dressed gentlemen holding clipboards near the front and grease some $ to get in.

+1 to Warren's statement. Fun can be had anywhere in Vegas.

I don't think you will ever wait 2 hours as long as you go about 30-45 minutes earlier before the club opens. I just came back from Vegas this weekend and my group of 8 girls 8 guys got in quick. With a big club like XS, the line will move fast if you're early because it is a huge club to fill up. I just got in contact with a promoter for XS maybe 3-4 hours before and he took care of it.

We ate dinner, walked over to the line at 9pm or so with the guys and girls. I texted my guy and he got someone to pull the girls out of line and took care of their cover. Guys waited maybe 15 minutes MAXIMUM after they opened doors and paid $50 cover this weekend.

Get your stamp, leave and pre-game/drink in your hotel room. Go back and have a grand ol' time! XS is always worth the money to me even at $50.

Contact a host from the site, say you're there for a birthday and just want to get in passed the line. Have everyone in the group throw in $20, so when you meet the host and he lets you in you hand them the tip.

So we can go down early, get in, get stamped and leave to drink our own booze cheap and then come back and skip the line if we have a stamp? That sounds amazing.

I can't answer for every club. XS does this without a doubt. I do this every time.

I can't answer for every club. XS does this without a doubt. I do this every time.

That's really good. We will be staying at the Imperial Palace so that's probably a bit far to walk back and forth, but we can scout out a bar nearby with slightly less ludicrous drink prices to hit while we're outside the club.
