Hey From San Diego

Hey everyone, I'm Joe. 25 years old San Diego, CA native. honestly can't count how many times I have been to vegas due to the ease of making a 5 hour drive with some friends and being in the middle of it. Just found this board a few days ago and can't believe I never discovered it. i have been on the JC site quite a few times but never saw the forums. My next trip is Aug 21-24. Hopefully I can be of help on this board!

I totally disagree on the "ease" of the drive though haha. Granted we don't need to blow money on flights, but that drive sucks! Especially with traffic. I really hope they build that train that's supposed to go from LA to LV is that still in the making?

As long as you don't try to leave at 5pm on a Friday you're all good. That train, like every other high speed plan from our broke state is really more of a pipe dream. They have plans and all that but actually building it will be another story. Plus Im not driving to LA to take a train to Vegas, talk about crap traffic. Where will you be going to school at? SDSU? I go to UCSD

you dont have to drive to la, there is a train that will take you there! i was on it this weekend, i know cuz if i missed my stop i would have ended up in SD and i came from downtown union station

I think he means the high speed rails that CA has been proposing and trying to finance for a while now. the amtrak to LA is one thing and useful if it's just one person IMO. I still prefer to fly to vegas as long as i book Southwest 2+weeks out for less than 100 each way. Are you from LA?
