Seattle crew heading down August 20-22

I'm the party planner for a group of 8 guys that make an annual pilgrimage to Vegas. Started 2 years ago with a bachelor party (stayed at MGM Signature and stumbled on Wet Republic - wow, what a find that was!). Went back the year after for a "bachelor party" (quotes due to the fact that we invented this "bachelor" who didn't exist and threw him a party), stayed at Mandalay, hit WR again and did Lavo as well.

Now we're heading back August 20-22 and picking it up a notch. Staying at Hard Rock and we've got one of the 2-floor Pool Villas that open onto the Rehab pool deck (plus a few other rooms obviously).

I'd LOVE some advice from you guys if you have a second:
1. Has anyone stayed in a Pool Villa at HR before? Thoughts?
2. Wet Republic - still worth it? The cabanas are a $2500 food/bev minimum now, up $500 from last year. Any hookups here?
3. Best club for Friday night? We were thinking XS or maybe Surrender/Encore Beach Club. Thoughts?
4. What's the Hard Rock like these days? Any spots there to check out or avoid?

1. Has anyone stayed in a Pool Villa at HR before? Thoughts? - No I haven't but they look sic. Let us know how they are.
2. Wet Republic - still worth it? The cabanas are a $2500 food/bev minimum now, up $500 from last year. Any hookups here? - Get with Thomas or Corey at Wet. Def worth it because I just went there this weekend and it was one of the best parties fo' sho'. We got a daybed for a grand min but it was in the quieter VIP section. The cabanas in the main pool were def closer to the action.
3. Best club for Friday night? We were thinking XS or maybe Surrender/Encore Beach Club. Thoughts? XS is definitely a good call for Friday. Minimums at Surrender are $500 less on Friday vs. Sat.
4. What's the Hard Rock like these days? Any spots there to check out or avoid? - Hard Rock is always fun but it's off the beaten path which can add up in taxi's and add 30 min commutes each way in bad traffic.

sounds like a good plan even if it's just for a bit (surrender). We could stay there or even just use it as a starting point. Mikey, if you're tuning in, would it be possible to put a group of us on GL (if we do agree to meetup)?

i would prob plan on staying there for the night. it's definately poppin so not a problem having a good night there and would be a nice place to start off the weekend considering it's not crazy XS or TAO so i'm definately down with the idea of a meetup on friday at Surrender if you guys are.

Right now we've got a table at XS for Friday night (we've never been, figured we'd have to check it out once) but could maybe meet before we head in there. Or what are you folks up to Saturday during the day or Saturday night? We're thinking either Wet Republic or the Hard Rock pool (that's where we're staying) Saturday day and no plans yet (what we call "Letting Vegas Happen") for Saturday night.

Im not getting into vegas until 8pm at night by the time we settle in and everything so my plans were
Fri Night - hit up surrender
Sat day - ebc if not then sunday and do wet republic instead since im staying there.
sat night - no plans either. could possibly just chill and do stuff on the strip/hotel

I'm still down for surrender on friday if that's still an option provided we all get a table or somehow don't have to deal with a hassle. Topher, is your friday table set in stone? I decided to do XS saturday, but still haven't heard back from Ryan. I had one originally booked (and still technically booked) for Friday by calling the club directly, but I hear that Sat is the night to go (perhaps the reason Ryan hasn't gotten back to me yet...btw, how long does he usually take to respond by email before I should call him?). Would be nice if you came to Surrender, but if you're doing XS for sure on friday, then obviously that's not in the cards.

FYI XS on Saturdays is much busier and harder to get a good table and that's why we usually hit it on Friday instead. Basically XS on a Sat night is a risk...At Surrender, the Sat table will cost you $500 more than Friday and there aren't that many inside tables so every seat looks like a good seat (if you're inside). Call David Pappas at Surrender if interested (he's a good host). Good luck...

Virtualized knows what he's talking about. XS is 50% more expensive on a Sat, although I'm still a sucker and planning on going due to group restraints. I guess the same would be true for Surrender as alluded to. Topher, I have nothing planned Sat afternoon and if the HR pool isn't going to sink my wallet metaphorically, I'd be down for it. Is it like EBC/Wet Republic with tables/bottles or just a general poolside scene?

nighthawk, maybe we should start a separate thread for surrender meetup on friday and see if we get enough to make it viable?

yeah for sure xs is the spot saturday so definately harder to get into. im not trying to go all out for anything big. if topher is set on doing xs friday then by all means. save him some money or something. not sure what happens at hr's pool on sat afternoons so i can't really say anything bout that

Yep, XS is locked for Friday. Saturday at the HR pool is their stab at having a Rehab-equse party on Saturdays. It's called SKAM Saturday and it's DJ's by a rotating series of guys assocaited with the SKAM DJ group out of NYC (http://www.skamartist.com/). They do the usual tables/cabanas, bottle service, etc. thing. Our plan if we stay around is to party out of our Pool Villa (it opens onto the pool deck) and pour our own drinks from the setup we'll be stocking on Friday at CVS.

No plans yet for Saturday night, let me know where you guys end up there.
