Nice choice. I got an EVO it's hands down the best phone I have ever used. It has some flaws but which don't. It was a pain to setup but once I got that done it's awesome. Keep in mind I'm quite the gadget nerd, Coming from iPhone to BB to now android all in the last year or so. And I don't like to admit it but I'm very picky with my gadgets.

On VZW, I would normally agree, go with the new Droid X- but, I'm already hearing off reviews -Originally posted by WarreN View PostSo I did a search and I didn't see any cell phone threads...sooooooooo I'm making one.
I happen to go out to the river yesterday along with my newly favorite cheap concoction of UV Blue and Lemonade/Mountain Dew Baja Blast and proceeded to get very buzzed in less than an hour. So buzzed in fact, that I walked into the river with my Blackberry and a half a pack of cigs in my swim trunks...wah wah wah.
Anyway, I need a new phone. My carrier is Verizon and I'm considering the Droid X...seeing as it came out today, what a coincidence eh?
What do you guys think? Best phone out right now? Or should I hold off and use my work blackberry and wait for something else.

I tend to stay away from Motorola devices, but have played with the original Droid and didn't completely hate it.
But either way you go, go the Android route. You'll be glad you did.

I dont really get the whole fascination with the BB messenger....never have. Every phone has messaging capabilities.
Anyway it looks like BB is making a positive move in revamping there OS:

I personally don't use bbm but I love my blackberry more than I love my girlfriend. (Don't tell her please.)
For someone who is always on the go nothing beats the reliable email/microsoft word/powerpoint capability of blackberry. Not to mention if you're a international traveler like I am occasionally, the ability to use wifi to make calls back to the U.S. for free is priceless.
But if you're into the latest gadgets to watch tv/movies, start your car, or thousands of other apps or functions not having to do with making calls, texting, or emailing I guess blackberry wouldn't really be your cup of tea.

I use to have a black berry Tour from Verizon. Loved the full keyboard but i wanted a bit more out of my phone. Once i got to play with the HTC incredible i had to have one.
Eventually i got the incredible and its a good phone. Great pictures, great response, great Android OS, plenty of apps, best of all when you need to find something just google map it! Battery life sucks though if you play with it too much. If you text a lot or get bored easily(which leads to net browsing) your battery can die fast(this is also the case with iPhone users). .

Thanks for all the replies.

@blib - I think I'll keep it...we'll see.
So far I love the new phone. I spent about 3 hours the other day just playing with it and downloading apps. So far I love the twitter app I have, but I hate the facebook app. I got some nerdy star wars things and some soundboards. Of course I got a fart maker and a couple video conferencing apps.
I just need more time to play with it.
Things I like so far:
-Camera and HD camcorder are AWESOME!
-soooo fast
-live backgrounds! People trip out
-soooo many apps
-same charger as my bb and a bunch of other phones
Couple things I don't like so far:
-Shitty facebook app
-TERRIBLE battery life...I mean this thing dies in like 4-5 hours with minimal use...maybe I need to deactivate some things. Guess its all the social networking apps checking for updates?
-speaker volume for apps and what not seems low?
-My camera stopped working and I couldnt figure out why for at least an hour and it was SUPER bad timing.Last edited by WarreN; 07-19-2010, 08:06 AM.-WarreN aka "The Business"

Okay, I agree with you...haven't had the camera problem though or the volume. The battery life is definitely terrible...I'm wondering if it's bc I'm using one of those fabulous live wallpapers though. Could be running it down. I also bought the car charger but it doesnt fit into the outlet in my car?Originally posted by WarreN View Post

Listen up rookies. Since your phone does true multitasking your battery life is going to suck if you you shutdown apps. Turn live wallpapers off, tell you get used to the phone. Also if this is your first touchscreen then get used to charging your phone. Look into getting a bigger battery or multiple batteries. Their are also chargers that charge two batteries at a time. Check out androidcentral.com, they have a forum section on all android phones.I swear feels like the last few nights we've been everywhere and back but I just cant remember it all

Not my first touch screen, but this is pretty bad next to my Storms battery life. Live wallpaper is definitely causing trouble im sure. Where do you shutdown the apps? I found one spot, but it was listing like a gillion. (its called "running services" but its sorta deep into settings.Originally posted by KC2Vegas View PostListen up rookies.
