Getting my Vegas cherry popped for my 21st..

What's up guys! If you couldn't tell, I'm brandspankin' new here on JC but let me tell you am I glad I stumbled across this little gem here. Seeing as how I've never been to Vegas before, trying to plan out how I would like the two nights of pure unadulterated hedonism that I would probably be there for go down is kinda overwhelming. And it being my 21st, I really want to do it BIG.

Keep in mind that before finding JC, I was basing stuff off yelp reviews, which honestly still makes it kinda tough cause the reviews hit both ends of the suck/awesome spectrum. Understandable though cause shit happens. But I figure your guys' opinions are much more valuable to me So help a homie out with a weekend to remember!

So here's what I got so far:

-- Friday, August 6th --

Meeting up with the whole crew somewhere and heading out from the OC to Vegas in the evening time, probably planning to get to where we are going to be staying at around 10 or 11ish, as I'm not turning 21 till the clock strikes midnight. Gonna just pregame it till then and head out.

Now here's where I'm not real sure what to do. Barhopping maybe? I figure trying to get into a club after 12 without knowing any hookups/without table & bottle service just wouldn't really be feasible or worth it. Suggestions?

After whatever we decided to go do, I was thinking maybe hitting up Drai's for afterhours? I heard some pretty good things about that place.

-- Saturday, August 7th --

Okay now this is the REAL day. I hope to be waking up late in the afternoon with not *too* bad of a hangover and ready to rage it up again - but this time even harder and bigger!

I was looking over some of the clubs and one that caught my eye was Rain cause of Perfecto. ATB happens to be playing that night too. I'm not really as into trance as much as I used to be back in the day (all about the la/dutch electro house scene now as it's what I primarily spin) but ATB was one of the first producers/djs that got me into EDM. And I know that man puts on a good show. The cabana package also looks pretty enticing - actually I think I NEED it. Sounds like it could be one helluva time.

People's thoughts on Rain and a cabana? I'm open to other suggestions as well but my main focus when it comes to the clubbin is the music (as little top40/hiphop as possible plz!) and having the space to bust a move to it (can of sardines, no thanks).

-- Sunday, August 8th --

Wake up early enough to just barely make check out (if we are staying in a hotel and not at one of my friend's friend's places down there, still a possibility) and make it back to the OC alive and in one piece with hopefully enough remembered memories and inside jokes to last me until next year.


Alright wow that was way fucking longer that I expected it to be. If you read through it all, you're a champ and deserve a cookie.

Best of luck bud. I was in your shoes 2 years ago and like you I had everything planned out the clubs, the pools, the girls, the casinos...Maybe half the stuff I wanted to do happened. It's Vegas...Your 21st...Be prepared. And Remember what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Except for herpes. That shit will come back with you.

I wouldn't worry about bottle service so much (either too expensive/not worth it) I suggest just hitting up whatever clubs yall feel like going to and having a good time with your boys I mean it is your 21st. And def. work yall's game by the pool, we had the best luck meeting and partying with girls when we met them by the pool.

I'm headed out there next week so I'll def give you some feed back. Where are you staying?

Oh yeah...bring plenty of pedialyte/powerade...You'll need it.

I recently had my 21st last month there too. Definately went all out for it too. Your plan sounds good but I think you can fit more into it then you really think.

Were you planning on hitting up any pool parties too?
And i think on friday you could see if you can get on guestlist for a nice club but not the mega clubs like XS/Tryst/Tao. Try contacting one of the hosts at the club you might wanna get into to. If guestlist will be too late by 12 then try greasing your way in.

What you could also do is go eat at TAO right when you get there, get a stamp for your whole group and just come back at 12 and walk right in

@Mullis - I feel inclined to spring for bottle service really for the table that it comes with. It'd be nice to have the ability to just chill out and kick it in your own designated area. And I figured with economically, with the whole greasing/cover/couple drinks I'd be shelling out for anyway, it seems like a better deal to me.


@nighthawk - Ya I know there's a lot of inbetween time, this is mostly just the key parts that I got down so far. Does that dinner trick at TAO really work? You think the stamp will still be good even at around 12?

yeah i believe it does cause it's the same stamp they probably gave me after entering the club.

I went there the friday i got there and i had to go out to walk a homie's girl out to him cause he couldn't get in so they stamped me right before i walked out and when i came back i showed them the stamp and just walked right in with still tons of people waiting in line wrapped around the place.

Alright then so what do you think would be a good time to make the reservation for dinner if we were planning to hit up the club after?


And hmm.. if I'm planning to do TAO Friday night and then be checking out of all the Palms clubs Saturday, where do you think I should stay to make running around town the least hassle possible.. Venetian or the Palms?

If I were 21 again and was able to go to Vegas this would be my plan with all I know now. You're basically only going for one full day on your time table. So with that in mind. I'd recommend doing the Tao suggestion. Book dinner reservations there for around 10:30 p.m. By the time you finish dinner it should be about 12 a.m. Time to hit the club. Saturday I would totally check out Wet Republic. Get a day bed, or table, or cabana there. Split between 12 guys it will cost you around $200-275 a person. This is definitely the spot to meet girls. Saturday night, pick up your Palms all access pass from Wanttickets.com. It's get you into every club at Palms. That would be one hell of a 21st birthday bash. In my opinion the pool parties are way better than the clubs. It's a way more chill vibe, and easier to meet girls. I'd stay at Palms if that's the last night you are going out. If you do end up staying for Sunday check out Rehab or Encore Beach Club. Have fun!

Venetian.. stay on the strip since it's your first time there. Consider Planet Hollywood or MGM as well.. in terms of budget, vibe, location, those hotels have a younger crowd too..

If you're gonna be staying at the Venetian, make your reservation at Tao for 7:30.. that way after your dinner, you can just go back to your room to shower, freshen up, pre-drink, then head back to the club at 12.

For your Saturday night, I've never been to Rain so I have no idea, but I would suggest you go to one of the major clubs (like XS) even though it's not really music you like cause the vibe/ambiance is nice, then go to drai's for house music. oh wait, but you said your fave dj is at rain.. umm, maybe club hop..

I agree with kori about dinner reservations at tao if your planning on staying at venetian. sounds like something i would definately do to start off the night.

For saturday it's really entirely up to you, if you rather see your fav dj live at Rain rather then hit up XS then by all means do what you think is best. Either table at XS/just getting in or wristband at Palms for all the lounges/clubs for the night sounds like a good idea to me.

Absolutely. Get dinner around 7 to 8ish, get stamped, pregame HARD, then get to Tao just in time for midnight and live it up.
