Posted this on a friends website where we all communicate so just copied and pasted it...I went with 3 other guys

I need to get the photos from my buddy to go with the thread but I had a blast. I probably got 10 hours of sleep total the 4 days I was there. Left Wed and got to Vegas at 8pm Pacific time, got home 4th of July around 7pm Central time.
We stayed at the Flamingo which is right next door to Ballys and O'Shea's and across from Ceasars.
First night we ate at Margaritaville inside the Flamingo. Roger and Brandon went out and stayed up all night. Kurtis and I walked around a bit and played poker for a few hours at Harrahs got pretty drunk then met up with Roger and Brandon in the morning. I think we were up till 8 or 9am Vegas time drinking. Wasnt much going on on a Wed night.
Hung out at the Family pool at the Flamingo Thurs afternoon since it was free and I bought a round of drinks for $70 (wow) but the Miami Vices were very very heavy on the Rum as I requested so one did us in. Brandon Rocked his speedo and we acted like we didnt know him.
I think that night Kurtis and I walked down to the MGM and played poker most of the night, met up with Roger and Brandon again in the morning at Osheas and drank a few pitchers of beer while I played craps till the sun was up a couple of hours.
Fri we rented a Lounge area and got bottle service at the adult pool at the Flamingo. Our tab for the day was $460 inc tip. The chick serving us tried to rack it up higher but I did not get wasted so she wouldnt take advantage of the credit card. We noticed she was trying to get us to order another bottle of Vodka and hurry up and drink the first one. Once she realized she couldnt take advantage of us she relaxed and chilled out. I think the trick is to not get too hammered and keep your wits about you. It was a good time and I would do that again. They had some playmates as guest dj's for the holiday weekend. The one on Fri was as advertised. Only gross thing....I sat on the side of the pool, never got in but for a moment, but I did not notice anyone that was in the pool get out and go to the bathroom....DISGUSTING. Its not like it was far to walk, but everyone was pretty drunk so I dont think they cared.
That night we ended up going out to eat and got all dressed up and went into PURE inside Ceasars with our free passes. The trick is to line up right at 10-10:30pm, wait about 20 mins, get in for free and get a stamp, then leave and come back later since you dont have to wait in line. Did see Kendra from Girls Next door Fame, she had a bunch of young guys with her, maybe a group of 20 (im guessing it was her brother and friends). Pure SUCKED - if you dont buy bottle service at this place forget it, they have everything roped off. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy went there. Needless to say we were there about 30 mins then went back to the room. Everyone else crashed but I was dressed up and wasnt going to let it go to waste. Went down to the casino for a while, got a couple drinks and saw DJ Pauly D walk through with his parents (he was guest DJ'ng the next day at the Palms). Didnt have the blow out in full effect but did have a gallon of hair gel in. I ended up going to Drais and paying the cover charge next door at Bills Gambling hall which is an after hours club. I was there from 3am till 5:30 or so then went back to Osheas to play craps till 7 or 8 and then slept a couple hours.
My buddies Brandon and Roger did make it down to Voodoo Lounge at the Rio on Wed night - they said it was ok, but they shut down the lower outside level of the place pretty quick to squeeze everyone onto the upper levels. I think it died out early according to them.
The best meal of the trip was Sat Morning at the Hash House inside Imperial Palace. Its been on the food network a few times and featured on Man vs Food. This is what I need to get photos uploaded of. The size of the plates and portions were insane. Practically everyone in there takes photos of their food before they eat it. And its fairly cheap too. My plate was $15, the others were $12-$15 as well. We all just ordered something and shared it since it was so huge. I will definitely be going back to this place as the food was pretty damn good. No wonder there was a 45 min wait when we got there.
Also another pretty cheap late night place to eat was in our hotel...it was the Buger Joint or something like that right by our elevator bank...from midnight to 6am you can get $2 burger and fries and $5 steak and eggs...they were pretty good too, I was even sober when I ate it.
Sat afternoon after we all woke up no one wanted to go to the Flamingo pool, Brandon wanted to go to the Palms pool to catch DJ Pauly D but none of us wanted to go and wait in line or pay a cover charge. They all stayed in their rooms till that night, I went down the MGM around 5 and started playing poker close to 6. I played till 5am. Glad I did as I lost some money in a bad beat and needed to win back $400 to break even for the day. I played on a table with a couple of locals who make a living at it so I felt pretty good holding my own against them. I did win most of the money back I lost in the one pot. Played with Aviators on and a faux hawk the whole time. Kurtis got a good laugh.
They all went into studio 54 and had a good time, wish i woulda went but wanted to get my poker groove back (and needed to wait for the right drunk guy to sit down to take his money) so just kept playing poker. I really liked the MGM poker room, it was huge and had a lot of action. A few locals and prof players were in there so you need to watch out. Also never sit at a table with more than 2 or 3 asians as they are more than likely playing as a group. The locals do this too. Always gotta watch their body language.
Cant wait to go back. Flamingo was ok, but we were on a floor with old rooms and they were nothing to ride home about. We saw some of the suites and GO rooms and they were damn nice. The pool had a nice down to earth vibe too. Id stay there again for the right price. Just didnt like that our room didnt have a fridge but a maintenance woman got us one and I tipped her some money. But for $400 a person for flight and hotel we couldnt go wrong.
I think out of all the casinos I went into Planet Hollywood had the best vibe to it. I didnt like the poker room inside Flamingo - got the vibe of too many local Sharks that will gang rape a tourist, same thing with Harrahs (though not as bad). Planet Hollywood poker room didnt seem as bad but it wasnt very big. I was most impressed with the MGM poker room and the amount of players and the action (it might have been due to the UFC fight weekend) but their poker room was the biggest I have seen of the casino's Ive visited.
Overall my general thoughts are this....definitely hit up Hash House restaurant inside Imperial Palace, GREAT food, GREAT Price, if you are looking for good dining on a budget, hit up Cheesecake Factory inside Ceasars Forum Shops...they had the same menu prices they do at the Cheesecake factory in Kansas City Ive been too.
Flamingo's old rooms suck, but if you're not taking a girl with you and its just the guys its not too bad especially if you get a good deal. Flamingo's suites and GO rooms we saw ROCK - they were very nice. Flamingo's GO pool I thought was pretty cool, a lot of down to earth friendly people there, if you are looking for playboy model scenery go elsewhere, I can look at that in a mag so I dont care about that, Im more into normal women and so are my buddies so we had fun...the women at the pool we were at were very approchable and were good looking and there to have just as much fun as us. I havent been to the palms pool party yet but from what Ive seen it just seems kinda pretentious and that you need to be blowing insane amounts of money to get any attention and have fun. Maybe Im wrong but I dont think one can go wrong with the Flamingo GO pool or the normal pool for a more relaxing and down to earth time, both were very nice and had decent crowds on the weekend.
I loved the vibe inside O'sheas Casino - more of a frat house college atmosphere. Its cheap to gamble in there as well and you are literally gambling feet from the strip where you can watch all the action. Doubt Id ever stay there but did like playing craps there since they always had a $5 table going right by the strip walkway. A few people also stop there in the morning to drink even more after leaving the clubs too it seemed like.
I think next time we will shoot to stay at Planet Hollywood.
Read there is a couger convention being scheduled for the last quarter of this year......
Thanks again to all the regulars on the forum for the great tips and advice. Love this place for info in Vegas!
