I've never personally tucked my shirt in or been told to tuck my shirt in.

I guess the dress code is less a set of specific things and more a general "be stylish thing." The guys at the door don't judge you based on a check list so much as they react by gut to your overall presentation.

But, if someone has never been to a club in vegas, telling them to be generally stylish isn't helpful, it's more helpful to talk specifics.

Just as if a girl asked "how can I be hot?" You could say something specific like, breast implants, X bmi, blond hair, whatever. But no one thing guarantees hotness and no one thing is required for hotness necessarily. It's just easier to speak of specific things.

Having said that, if you actually took a large sample size of men in the clubs/waiting in line, you will find that there are deviations from each of these "mandatory" clothing items happening every night. Honestly, it comes down to how you present yourself. For example, if you are looking stylish in a well fit polo shirt + dark, lighter fabric denim jeans and shoes that go with the ensemble, no one is going to have a problem.

If you don't believe me you might want to take a look at pictures of various people within the clubs recently. Although most of the pictures are of women, there are some where you can judge what guys are wearing and getting in with.

I will say this: if you have no style and no understanding of fit (most men + douchebags) then yes, you will probably HAVE to wear a button-down long sleeve dress shirt and leather shoes.
Your swag has a lot to do with it plain and simple! But the main reason a lot of us say to dress up a bit is also because your gonna want to look your best. I mean your on vacation and your going to be around people that are dressed to impress, why not step it up a bit?

Think of it this way. Grown men wear business attire(to impress), and kids wear casual/comfortable wear(to play). Your level of dress has to do with your level of maturity so to speak... These upscale clubs do not like the type of partying that other clubs tend to offer (i.e. daggering, spinning girls in the air or getting wild on the floor), and a well dress male is not going to risk messing up a nice dress outfit to show out. Instead they'll use their other assets.

Like whats been said before, Style is KEY. Ive never had a problem with outfits that are questionable, but others have. Its a risk, and thats WHY we usually suggest to play it safe, but someone always has to come on here and say Ive worn this or that.

Honestly, most people with a GREAT sense of fashion, DONT have to ask.

I guess now would be a bad time to mention the disappearing and reappearing blazer trick that Huge and I pulled off. We both in dress code with t-shirts

Royale, this might have been what you did, but what I was going to say was why don't more people just buy some cheap ass jacket and wear whatever t shirt they want underneath it then just take that shit off when they get into the club and pray it's wherever they hid it at the end of the night?

                Problem solved, right?

Other than the name, what does a Gucci button up have that say a Jone New York or Versini doesn't have? I'm just using these names as examples. You can fill in whatever names you want.

Nothing... It's more about the way any shirt fits... It could be a plain black shirt... If it fits right... Your better off than a 500 Robert Grahm that doesn't sit right on your sholders...

It's always hit or miss. When we were in line @ the Bank, the girls in front of us were getting turned away for wearing sandals so we got a bit nervous...we were all in sandals, and walked right in without a second glance. A good amount of the guys with us were in T-shirts, jeans, and nice shoes. Again, no problems.

It could have been the AOD swagger though....
Oh, P-tr-ck, I STILL need to borrow your German Leg Breaking Machine....Thx.

Well, I have to say I've had the best luck wearing upscale attire. Vest, Tie and button up have the best results. Watch me clean up.
