Sandwich trick @ the Venetian

I got my upgrade without getting the chance to do the sandwich trick. It's a long story, but to sum it up; my reservation and deposit was lost due to last-minute trip changes. So, i had to make a completely new reservation at regular price.So, I booked the cheapest available(low-level studio suite) and was upgraded to the upper level 1 bedroom suite. I slipped a 20 anyways... And I have to say, floor to ceiling windows with a roll up shade and strip view=instant pantydroppa.

To add, It seems the trick is all about who you talk to, because i wanted to punch the first rep in the face.

It worked last year for me when we stayed at Bally's. It wasnt a HUGe upgrade at bally's but it was the nicer tower. Havent tried it at other hotels but im planning on doing it at the Wynn. Anyone have experience with it at the Wynn?

my friend got the better luck of the draw and was upgraded to a Hospitality suite at the palazoo with a $20 sandwhich

I got bumped over the 4th of July to the Hospitality Suite at the Palazoo too but I figured since it was a holiday I'd sandwich a $50.

This has worked for me 4 times, staying at both The Venetian and Palazzo. I've always used $20, but I've only asked for the double room.


If I would have known, I would have asked for a suite, but I was content not having to share a bed with one of my buddies.

One of my friends just finished upgrading successfully yesterday while checking in at the venetian.

did the trick last month in July at Palazzo.

This is what happened.

"So when asked for my ID and CC I handed the concierge the sandwich. He saw the $20 then handed it back to me and said to hold onto that for after he finished booking me. I didn't even have to ask if there were any upgrades available. He just automatically gave me a strip view room. Unfortunately I was checking in really early 11am so the room was not available. He handed me my room keys and said that they would call me when the room was ready. He then asked how many people I had in my party and I told him. He went to the back room and came back with some free passes for Tao, Tao Beach, and Lavo. He also gave me a few pens for everyone in my group. I would say the $20 trick was a success."

Most of the time I hear people get strip view rooms and higher floor for Venetian and Palazzo sandwich trick. I have heard on a rare occasion that people get upgraded to a bigger suite but they mention it's their honeymoon.

I was told by a lady that worked at one of the shops at Wynn/Encore that they tend to upgrade or at least send you a nice gift basket for Honeymooners.

Sept 5? ive never heard of this and would like to try and get upgraded to palazzo or at least a late check out on wed. after 1 pm. Has anyone done this on LDW when hotels are packed? (im assuming venetian and palazzo will be pretty full...might get some discount coupons?)

You mean you want them to switch you from a venetian room to a palazzo room?

For an early check out you could try the sandwich and ask for a late check upon arrival or on the night/morning of leaving go to front desk and just drop them a tip and ask for a late check out. Or maybe if you hit the tables on the night before leaving ask the pit boss if you can have a late check out. (i'm unsure if the pit boss can authorize this but doesn't hurt to ask. Especially if you make it seem like you want a late check out to play some more on the tables)

well i was reading review from people and some reported that they checked in at venetian and tipped 20$ and were then upgraded to palazzo rooms.
