How do I "grease" the doormen and how much with?

  • #2
$10-$20 a guy should get the job done. the best way to do it is nonchalantly go up to a suit with money folded in hand shake his hand and politely say "can you help me and my buddies get in quickly?" he will then ask how many? and ask you to wait a minute in a specific area and off you go, ive never had any issues doing it this way. also read through the website here and you will find some great tips
it's that time again, let's get #28 gentleman....for the boss

So you shouldn't ASK how much to get in? E.g. "How much to get 5 guys in?"

I said that to a bouncer at Tao and his response was "$1000 for a shortcut". Fuck that, I thought, and left.

I wouldnt give them the oppurtunity to say that, put them on the spot and make them either let you in and make some cash or turn it away and risk losing some dough. just keep it at a decent amount like I said $10-$20 a guy and you wont have any probs

New York you are wrong about this and if you want to skip the LONG lines (sometimes two hours) you should tip at least 35 per person because some door guys take the hand shake to later find out u took advantage of them and charge prices like below.. !!!

This is someone after new york tipped to get in.. haha sorry new york i have to respectfully disagree.. but really to skip the line you have to pay general addmission of 30 per person plus tips starting at 45 to get a smooth VIP not wait entry.. and u cant just walk up to tip just anyone there is a system to there madness because they all split the tips at the end of the night an a 10-20 tip wouldnt go far between a like 12 guys.. to get past a long line to get in one of the hottest night clubs in the world.. but a good rule is about 100 to skip the lines.. !!!

          Thanks Michael

blah blah blah. Ive never greased more than $20 a head. And its always been an agreed price, not just something I pulled out of my ass.

Everyone has to deal with a jerk once an awhile. Just let it roll of your back, and try again. We have nothing to gain by giving you bad advice.

Ive paid cover probably 75% of the time. Ive never said otherwise, in fact, Ive stated guys will almost always pay cover (without table service). You were probably banned though. Sorry you missed that post.

I've never had a club host turn down a benjamin. Go to whatever security guard isn't occupied at the front. Ask for a host, guard gets host, host shows up, let em know you like to get in discreetly showing the bill he asks how many you tell him he opens velvet rope let's you in one by one sometimes checking id's as if he's crossing you off his list. Your in, sometimes they give you free cover passes sometimes they don't. He takes care of the guard later.Bada boom bada bing. To hell with the waiting game.

I was lurking bad in days when Napkin Nights had there forum, and Jack was posting over there. I just finally decided to become active.

I far as memorial weekend, I thought about, but just couldnt fit it in. I ended up booking in June. Next time.

Thanks for the help. Think i'll try $20 and see what happends. I'm sure they take other factors into consideration when deciding how much to charge you. Try to dress well, keep the group small/mixed sex and don't drink too much pre-club.
