TR: BV's Summer Tour of America 2010

Less then 24 hours till take off, and the volcano is still quiet...fingers crossed for no ash clouds, or mechanical faults, or illnesses. At least our flight is direct, so no layovers in Philly (pleeeease!)

I'm sat at work, dying to leave and go get some last minute things for my trip, but it's only 2pm and that would just be pushing things too far! But give me an hour or so and I'm out of here! I'm so tired and hungover, it's been a crazy week. Unintentionally out every night partying or exercising, and last night was 3 hours of sleep and a shit load of gin.

The plan:

Got to get some rest tonight before a 7.30 train to the airport and a 11am flight to New York.
I don't think I'm going to sleep! So excited to see Loves and Drew, who are very kindly hosting me and Mr BV for a few days.
After NYC I head to Madison for a 4 day intense conference, and Mr BV is heading home
After Madison is LA with Aria and whoever else wants to come and hang out, and hopefully the 23rd/24th will be Vegas with Aria and SexC. Can you see why I'm so excited?? God knows when I'll get any sleep in the next two weeks, it's going to be intense!

Vast amounts of chocolaty goodness will be distributed to my lovely hosts and some choice duty free will be bought at the airport tomorrow - I love flying out of the EU - cheap booze!

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the next few days...

Oh dear, I don't think I'll ever have the energy to do a proper TR for this, it was such an action packed and awesome trip!

But here's the run down:
New York - stayed with the lovely Drew and Loves, right on the Hudson, with a view of manhatten (yes, we were actually in new Jersey). Drew refused to take us to the Jersey shore though to look at douche bags :-( Next time Loves and I will steal his car and go anyway!

Hubby and I failed to be in the correct time zone for a couple of days, and passed out/fell asleep ridiculously early, but had a lot of fun being tourists and exploring New York.
On our last night in NYC Loves and I hit the town - but failed miserably to find much excitement. We did go to an empty club that had awesome music - but that's a failure really. We had a random drive around Uptown and failed to find any open bars, after a failed attempt to find fun in Times Square (but I did take my pic with a police officer )
We gave up about 2-3am and headed home. Fun night, but I think failure is the name of the game!

Next few days were in Madison, which was so lovely. I was at conference, but they gave us free wine every night, so it was fun. Had a couple of all nighters (my litre of duty free gin vanished between 4 of us playing "I have never" at 3 am)
I corrupted a nice boy from New York (but I think he was pleased I did) on my last night by staying up all night before my 6am flight and swapping stories - amongst other things

Aria and her house mate came and fetched me from LAX - spent the day chilling, catching up, freezing on the beach and having a nice dinner with her friends/family.
Had a fun night with SexC and Socal, where we got sloshed on Captain morgan at the british pub (not my choice), flashed some Aussies our legs (and probably other bits), got 22 yr olds to buy us drinks, posed for silly photos with the hollywood stars/hand prints, insulted the drummer from Panic at the Disco and went bowling.

Had a groovy night at Hermosa Beach with Killer Fanatics and his lovely GF - failed to find anyone interesting to chat up, so chatted up not very interesting guys instead. Was a crap wingwoman for Aria (sorry) and generally had a lovely time of it. Went back to Arias, got stoned and fell asleep.

Headed to Vegas on the Asian bus - seemed to take forever, but for $50 who cares! Hit town about 7-8 ish, met JustCole for EBC/surrender (she walks us right in, as a local she's got the moves!) - abuse the open bar till midnight, then dance, laugh, possibly drink more, make out with someone, forget things...leave to go to Blush, which is dead, so head over to the HRH with Aria.
We sit in the center bar with ice water and amuse ourselves by rejecting the procession of men that come and chat Aria up. Eventually I decide one is worthy enough of her and let him and his friend join us.
Get home when the sun comes up. (ps bud was only $2 for some reason - which was a nice late night/early morning drink)

Get a couple of hours sleep, drink the champagne someone kindly forgot and left in our fridge, and rally - getting to Tao Beach for about 12.
Meet up with GmJoe who is fabulous and spoils us rotten with 'rita's all day. Great cabana they are a lovely group of lads.
Gubuju and his mate also come to find us, and we all hang out, splash around in the pool (which does indeed turn a disgusting colour by the end of the day) and get thoroughly drunk together. Great music, but no one much was dancing, just hitting the ball back and forth in the pool.
Go back to gubuju's for shots and because I'll die if I don't eat something.
Quick beer and pizza and a couple of hours to disco nap before Tao. Take too many caffeine tablets perhaps...but get through most of the vodka we have left :-)
Walk down to Tao with our cups of vodka and moutain dew - we're classy as always.
Bit of a clusterfuck getting in, but we're in by about 11. It's already busy, so after checking it out (my first time) we head up to Tao beach, and chill by the bar, checking out the scenery.
Meet up with gubuju and dance a while with him and another random guy. have a great night, and am in bed for about 4 (via Maccy D's of course for late night fries and milk).
Wake far too early in the morning, need Earls. Get Earls and decide its the worst idea ever and nearly vomit all over PH...sit and feel like death for some considerable time, before going back to the room. Get a late check out, change the time of our bus and fail to sleep some more (stupid caffeine tabs!)
Wonder around the heat for too long (bloody City Centre is awful), try a couple of beers for hair of the dog - kind of works, and win $15 on a penny slot machine - yaaay!
Long, slow, wakeful ride back to LA. The lovely SoCal picks us up from the bus stop and we have a chilled out evening - with a brief diversion to the beach. But really? the beaches close at 10, and you can't drink on them??? WTF??? Very disappointing, as the bonfire sounded nice

Next day Aria is working, and me and Socal are just waking up, when we hear Warren is coming over to take a shower. Slightly surreal letting a guy we've only met online into someone else's home, but hey ho! Probably not clever of us to get into his van either - but we lived to tell the tale, though were hugely disappointed by the lack of puppies and free candy! Also meet his friend Luke - cool dude.
Head to Santa Monica and park up by the pier. Start drinking beers, Warren is downing cans like there's no tomorrow, and eventually Cisco, Raul and Felix show up Hugs and kisses all round!
Head up to Starbucks to bug Aria - who graciously provides us all with free drinks - whooooop!
Head back to the beach to drink more, then sadly run out of alcohol - boooooo!
Wait for Aria and SexC to join us with more supplies.The amazing SexC also brings us all sandwiches, because she's amazing!
Chill on the beach with a water bottle of Captain Morgan, again courtesy of SexC. Body board with Cisco - fuuuuun - but the sea kicked my ass!
Chill out on top of Cisco bang bus, dry off and hit the bars of Santa Monica.
Do a terrible, but revealing game of "I have never" in the Irish bar (which also includes the staff). Go to the next bar, where we dance on tables, shout, generally act like idiots (KF and his GF also join us)
Warren forgets his card behind the bar but isn't allowed back in to settle his tab and get his ID...so SexC and I sort it out. He's so faded.
Piggy back rides to the next bar...getting hazy now....erm then another bar.
Play spin the Caroline with Warren/Luke.
Meet a cute boy.
All pile back to Arias.
Drinking, smoking, snoring, sleeping (for 2 hours)
Then Cisco drives me to the airport at 7am and I head home.

Sooooo great to meet you all. One of the best trips I've ever done. Thanks for all the couches, beds, drinks, rides and good times - see you at Halloween XXX
