  • Birthday Suggestions????

    Hello guys,

For my 21st birthday my boyfriend is taking me to Vegas to celebrate. We've booked a couple shows, a dinner on the town at The Top of the World at the Stratosphere, and we are looking into trying to reserve some kind of table at a nightlife spot.

I've been reading a lot of reviews and a lot of opinions that people have over the general night clubs, and the possible benefit of attending a lounge rather then a club. I'm really unclear over the difference, as in my home town these types of places nearly don't exist (we're a city of dive bars lol).

Judging over appearances/reviews I'd love to get a table at LAVO, however after reading that while advertised bottle service was something like $350 that the actual price gets up to a few grand. It seems like a bit of a waste on just two people.

Really, what /I'm/ looking for is a classier place then our local bar where we can sit at a table and drink/listen to music

What I'm wondering is if clubs make any kind of accommodation for guest's special events or smaller groups.

    -or-

If there is a "lounge" that is somewhat similar to LAVO that might be more accommodating to my desire.

Seems like you guys are the ones to ask, lol. Third trip to Vegas, first time actually getting out into the real nightlife

The Mix at the top of the hotel / mandalay bay could be what your are looking for. It's not a club... more of a nice lounge. I think it's the best view in vegas... some 60 floors up. There's also outdoor seating. A bottle there would be less than LAVO. But, I have also been there to just grab a few drinks and found a table to sit at. LAVO is more popular and will pack in more people with a younger / party crowd. But the Mix could be an option for you.

I think you would like the Voodoo Lounge at the Rio. It has a balcony outside and it is at the top of the hotel so you can see the entire strip (go at night of course). It has nice live music, 2 stories of places to sit and a nice bar.

If you want a place to dance but is more lounge like (meaning smaller, more intimate) then try Blush. I went there with a boyfriend once and we had a great time. We did not bother with table service just went outside and had a drink then started to dance it was fun. and it looks pretty on the inside for such a little place.

Mix is also good. It seems like you two might enjoy views!

I would stay away from the huge clubs.

I thought Tabu was fun, but I was thrown out for making out with a guy too ardently so you may want to pass on that if you are planning ANY pda lol Have fun!

I took my girlfriend to vegas right after she turned 21.
We did the usual shows, nice dinner, and lounges.
I also took her to Tao and she loved it. She loves dancing and yeah 1 whole $450 bottle for just 2 seems too much. So we just greased the clipboard guy to get us in early and just danced all night.

All the nice Lounges that the people above mentioned is great, but it's Vegas and I think you should at least try 1 club just to see what the whole fuss is about.
