Hard Rock Hotel security?

Does the Hard Rock have security going through people's luggage at the elevators looking for alcohol when they are going to their rooms? also I've read on another site that they were forcing people to pay extra to get into rehab even though they were staying at the hotel. Something to do with their nightly rate being too low?

If this is the case, I have a pool villa booked for 3 nights in June and if I can't enjoy a few drinks on the villa's patio, I'll be looking into another hotel.

I've never once heard of or have had them go through my belongings. I don't even know of any casino that actively would search your things unless you were suspected of trafficking drugs or suspected of possessing a weapon. (or as it has happened to me at the MGM, fucked up your reservation in the computer and decided to catalog all your items for inventory since the room was allegedly "empty")

The issues with Rehab are relatively low, it just depends on the weekend you're attending (for instance, MDW, it'll be much tougher to get in, it is subject to availability). At check in, make sure to request entrance in to Rehab for free. You also must be staying that Sunday.

If you have a pool villa, I honestly don't think they would deny you free entrance since you are spending quite a bit on the room alone...

the latest trip report on trip advisor "pick another hotel, to stay, eat or party. stay away !" is alarming to what security was doing at the elevators to the room or going out to the pool.

What can you and can't you bring to the pool?

At rehab you can only have a TRANSPARENT bag. If you bring a backpack, ect., they will make you check your bag (this cost $$), and give you a clear one.

Don't know about the checking of bags at elevators. But can say that I recently called Hard Rock to confirm my reservation and asked about Rehab. I was told that Rehab may be charging hotel guests for entrance, although guests still have a separate line. Not sure if that is true or not as the person on the phone was sure to express that Rehab(and the pool/entertainment) was a separate entity from the actual hotel.

From what Aria found out(posted in another thread):

I called the HR to make sure my reservation was all fine (I was getting paranoid). The woman on the phone said they change the policy every week, depending on the lead Nightlife/Daylife manager's discretion. The weekend in question we've been talking about was a fight weekend, so they changed the policy due to such high demand for Rehab on Sunday.

She told me that it varies week to week, but as long as we tell the front desk we want entrance to Rehab (and that we are staying that Sunday) at check in, and it isn't a huge weekend, we should be just fine.

Aside from Exodus and Mayvasion, it's not really a big event weekend in Vegas. Obviously if it was MDW, then we would have an issue. But honestly, I think we're all getting wound up for nothing.

Also, the majourity of us have been leaning away from Rehab anyway (at least from what I've been reading), so it's really whatever happens.

It's Vegas. We're AOD. It's gonna be fucking fun no matter where we go or what we do.

I would be shocked if they are going through your stuff at the elevators, the cluster fuck that that would cause.....it seems to me that the person that wrote that review was angry about something.... probably the younger crowd and they parobably walked into rehab and were patted down and didnt even realize that it was rehab thought it would be a nice relaxing sunday at the pool

I've never heard of them checking your bags at the elevators...sounds like someone is smokin rocks to me. In fact they watched me bring bags of Alcohol into the casino from CVS...I was walkin around with a 40oz like a gangster son! It was nothin!

Rehab is a different story. They check for everything, secret flasks, even the ones in your sandals!
