  • ? for those that have been 2 Vegas 4th of July wknd

I always seem to be the trip planner but im the best at it
Anyways, one of the airlines at our airport (Wichita, KS - Allegiant Air) is sort of a travel agent/destination airline. To make a long story short they try and sell you a whole package (airfare, hotel etc) and are usually fairly reasonable. They only fly 3 places from our airport Vegas being one of them.

Anyways, I have found some cheap fares/hotel rates from June 30 - July 4th (we fly home the afternoon of the 4th)

Found air and hotel (inc taxes & per person) ranging from $315- 345 for the following hotels in order of expense:
    • Tropicana,
    • Rio
    • Harrahs
    • Ballys
    • Flamingo

They also have rooms & airfare at PH for $416 (Hollywood Hip) room.

There are 4 guys going ages 27-30, one of them looks like Tyson Beckford in minature if he were 5'6" so we use him as a lure for the ladies lol. (possibly just 3 of us, I'll know in the next week if the 4th is going)

Ive been to Vegas 5 times the others just a couple.
(Ive stayed at Rio - loved its close proximity to the Palms and the rooms - most recent trip, Motel 6 by MGM lol - I was 21 and did it on the cheap, Monte Carlo, & Condo/Timeshare at the Jockey Club. Have been in most of the casinos at least once)

There are lots of other hotels they partner with but none I want to stay at or any I think would be recommended by you guys/gals here and many others Id stay are are way more than the $416 I quoted for PH. The $425 is our ceiling for what we want to pay per person for air/hotel.

Im the only one who loves to gamble, but we all like to party. We'll plan on doing the bracelets at Palms probably on a Friday Night, and hit up Voo Doo on Thursday - wed no clue, Sat no clue.

Now to my question...this airline constantly changes their rates as we'd prefer to go in august but the rates are still high that far out. If we do go the dates I posted is everything going to be crazy busy with lines everywhere, higher table limits etc? Im guessing yes, and I hate waiting in lines. We went last year Aug 13-16th and stayed at the Rio. I used this site for a lot of usefull information and thank you guys. The bracelets at the Palms were excellent. We bought the Ditch Fridays ones but were too hung over to make it there (I cost myself $1600 blacking out at Rix Cabaret ....God I will never live that one down, me and my buddy were the last ones to leave that place after we partied till close at Voodoo. Sorry I didnt post a trip report - I was just too pissed at how much that trip cost me lol but I got over it...think it cost me $3-4k - lost a lot gambling too, poker was not kind to me. Rio had some deep pocketed sharks at the no limit table.

So to get to my question if we dont want to wait in a lot of lines Im sure we can have fun another weekend.

Would the weekend I mention be worth it? I know pricewise it is, but I dont want to get pissed off by having to wait in lines everywhere to get in clubs, pool parties, have high table limits etc.

Would I be better off waiting till a bit later in the summer or would 4th of July be worth it? None of us have the cheese to throw around on a super busy weekend to cut in line, etc...Im sure we could manage it on a normal weekend. Im just curious how many people make it their destination for this holiday...I would think people probably go elsewhere?

    Thanks again in advance.

I was there over the 4th of july holiday three years back. I don't remember it being a busy weekend... just very hot. One day it was 115 and my room key melted at the pool. I think you will be ok... and the deal sounds great.

It was hot... It was record breaking heat... it lead the news a few nights. Even at night it was 90 and up. That's why I feel vegas in july is not the first choice for most people. The reason for the great rates.

Hey i'm gonna be there for the 4th of july w/e too, with another friend of mine and i had the exact same question on my mind, with regards to the crowds/ lines, hopefully their not too lengthy.

With regards to the heat though..... is it too hot, or bearable.... obviously though if your keys are melting, i doubt it was bearable (especially hungover) :P .

We might even bump into ya! We're definitely keen to have a few good nights out with however's keen!

I dont care what anyone says, I'll take Vegas Desert Heat at 115 degrees for the day than our KS heat at 89 and 80% humidity. 115 feels much better, like a dry oven yes, but you at least dont have sweat soaking your body.

Back on topic - thanks for the replies. Got the trip booked, ended up being more because the rates went up a couple days after I posted this.

$405 a person (4 ppl going) inc all taxes, roundtrip airfare, hotel etc.

Got June 30th - July 4th 2 deluxe rooms at the Flamingo. Will try the sandwich trick when we get there to see if we can get upgraded to the GO Rooms.

From what I read their pool is supposed to be pretty nice. I was thinking on Thursday (July 1) we might rent a cabana at the pool, however they list either the standard pool or GO (i think its called that) pool - however the GO or adult pool is about $75 or $100 more for the day. Would it be worth it?

And when they say they give you a bottle of liquor - is it a 750 or a 1.75 bottle. Im going with 3 other alcoholics and a 750 wouldnt last long.

Im pretty sure Friday we'll buy the Ditch Fridays bracelets for the Palms, hang out at the pool there and then make it back to their clubs that night.

              Thanks again.

And Joel maybe we'll see you around.
