  • Wedding Trip June 17-20 - Advice Request

    Hello everyone,

Thank you to all the contributors and JC; this site has been very educational. As there is so much information here, I hope my research has been comprehensive. Please excuse me if I have overlooked something otherwise readily available.

I'll be travelling with a group for a wedding and a bit of an itinerary has been provided. I'll be splitting it up to try to keep it relevant to each forum topic.

On Friday, June 18, we'll be at the wedding ceremony followed by dinner at the Bellagio. Afterwards, we would like to go to a club, likely with bottle service.

I'm hearing great things about partying at XS, but it sounds like our reservation might not be honoured or put us out of our budget.

Tao was next in line, but a recent rumor floating around the group is that it was $1k per bottle per two people.

Pure seemed to be an idea; the groom, bride, and best man had been a couple of years ago and had a great time. Just not sure if it's still as good and they may want to try something different.

Next we were thinking about The Bank. Haven't been able to find a lot of information on it, but the general feeling is that it's going to be quite pricey just because it's in the Bellagio.

So, it sounds like we're going to go with Moon and see what kind of pricing comes our way. If we end up here, at least I can escape to the Playboy Club from time to time.

There will be six guys and four ladies in the group (possibly plus one for each gender). Our age range is from mid 20s to early 30s, not all of us are drinkers (seven or eight of the ten are), and we'll be arriving in whatever we wore at the wedding (though I don't know if this means the bride will be in a wedding gown, but everyone else will be in suits/dresses). We're hoping to do table and bottle service for $1k to $1.5k ($150 to $200 per drinker); this is flexible, but hitting $5k will be too much for us.

Are we on track with an appropriate club, or would you suggest somewhere else or revisitting one we've bypassed?

One of the strategies I've heard for booking a table and trying to keep costs down is to book for the guys, have the ladies guest listed, and then have them join us when everyone's in. Not sure how well this will work in our situation, but would a club give us a table for ten when there's only six of us in the booking? Or would it simply be safer to book for all of us?

I understand that getting bumped or an altered reservation is a possibility for most anywhere we go. How bad is it to book tables at two clubs, confirming both the day of, and not showing at the other if the first is satisfactory?

On an aside, as I'm a rocker and don't care for the typical music at clubs, I'm really looking forward to checking out Wasted Space either on Thursday night after the strip club or on Saturday night. Most people talk about going on Wednesdays instead. Is Thursday or Saturday any good?

    I appreciate any guidance offerred.

Thursdays at Wasted Space are usually music oriented. Cover bands such as the Sin City Sinners and the like. The crowds are usually a lot thinner, unless it is a larger band's after party.

Wednesdays are more of a locals night and with 51 Fifty playing as well as rock mashups from the DJs, the crowds are much larger and more enjoyable.

Saturdays, like any place in Vegas, are packed and busy. But like with anything, the crowds and the mood always vary.

As for the table bookings, it's much more cost effective, I believe, to get the ladies guestlisted and get the bottle minimum for your group. Tons of places offer free drink passes for girls or open bars early in the night, so they can drink semi-cheaply. (Jet, Vanity and LAVO are usually very good for scoring an open bar)

If you're in to house music, Godskitchen @ Vanity on Thursdays offer free open bar for those on their guestlist. Get the girls on, get a good table location and enjoy.

    Hope that helps.

      +1 to everything Aria said!

Now as far as some of the rumors or assumptions you listed they are pretty far off. First off bottle service is normally 1 bottle per 3-4 people and bottle run anywhere from $300+ depending on the club. XS I believe Goose is about $475 but I might be mistaken. Do a search for Menu Bandit and you should be able to find more info on bottle prices. Also dont forget about tipping! But by what you posted $150-200 per drink should definitely be fine for bottles. To make it even easier do what was posted about splitting the group up; have the girls guest list and the guys go in with the bottle. For your group of 6 guys it should only be about 2 bottles and will keep you in the $1-1.5k range. Thats for most clubs too btw.

From the last time I was at Pure it was a blast but I keep hearing that getting in is a madhouse! IF you dont end up at XS or Tao then try Tryst or Vanity and if not then I guess Pure will do. Hope that helps! And feel free to ask questions on the boards, thats what were all here for! To help each other out!

Thank you for the advice. I'm really hoping that I can check out the Sin City Sinners at some point on Thursday night (I used to listed to Todd Kerns in Age of Electric).

As it will likely be just me on Thursday night, after the strip club (the ladies will either be having a pillow fight or going to Chippendales), I'm more interested in somewhere playing rock or alternative, so Wasted Space will probably be the place for me. Clubbing for the group will be on Friday night.

I appreciate the backing of splitting the group based on gender, but I am still uncertain if the appropriate seating would be given. Is this hard to book through a club contact to get extra seating for the ladies or should it be easily expected? Would it be easier for us to get a table with seating for everyone if we booked all together?

Is it safe to say that the bottle pricing between The Bank, Tao, and XS is relatively the same for bottle service? I searched for the Menu Bandit, but the current posts aren't comprehensive as yet. I'll be reaching out soon to hopefully have something listed for everyone's reference (not meaning to abuse the services).

Would you say that Tryst or Vanity is better than Pure?

With my previous research, aside from the pricing, how am I off with what has been determined with the clubs?

Are these places suited for those arriving in wedding attire? I figure it would be best if we arrived somewhere that we were no more than one or two steps above the average dress.

Thanks again. Just wanting this to go well our friends wedding.

If you're concerned about seating just make sure to tell the host you book through you're looking to pull some ladies. Often if you're willing to tip better or just have a good relationship and communication with the host, you'll get a great location and a more sizeable area.

I also hope you're not planning to spend the entire time sitting in the booth. If you factor in people on the dance floor, roaming around or even dancing near the table space for seating shouldn't ever really be an issue.

You're paying for a place to chill, of course, but you're also playing a hefty price to enjoy the club. You can go to an ultra lounge or even more of an upscale casino bar (such as Parasol at Wynn) for that kind of experience and pay less than half the cost of the club table.

contact some hosts... ask about bottle prices... ask about deals... like a buy one get one. shop around... look for a deal and price that works for your group.

              Thanks again.

We'll definitely approach a few clubs and see where it takes us. I'll post what I'm quoted for everyone's reference.

As for parking at the booth, while I don't intend to, I'm the one of the group that's most likely to do so. I'm looking forward to the experience and will try not to be too much of a wallflower.
