  • How much should I tip each host?

For me this is the hardest part of organising a table or cabana, I don't want to seem rude by not tipping them enough, I want to give them just enough so that I get that extra bit of service out of them. Below is what I have set up and I really would appreciate every bodies feedback in what I should be tipping each host? I have written next to each table or cabana which I have set up, what I think would be just about right if you guys think its too little or over generous please spk up and let me know!

1 bottle minimum at Pure $50 per person in my group
2K bottle minimum at Tao $100-$150
Bungalow 3.5k minimum spend at Wet Republic $250
Cabana 1k minimum spend at Tao Beach $50-$100
Vip Day Bed $500 minimum spend at Bare $50
3 bottle minimum at Tryst $100
cabana at Sky Bar and 4 bottle minimum at Vanity (same host) $250

How do you tip when the host just walks you up and hands you to someone else?

^^^^ thats exactly why no one is responding. The subject has been beat to death, and frankly, most are probably tired of justifying to people why they tip the way they do. The value of the tip is really up to the person giving it. Everyone has different circumstances, such as how many times they go to Vegas, rather they have a continued relationship with the host, or how much money they have. Some can justify a $500 pair of sunglasses, and some cant/wont. Its really that simple.

So you have to ask yourself OP, what are those sunglasses worth to you. Fortunately, with tipping, you get to decide. With bottles, the prices are set.

If you want to know what I "personally" would tip, you can PM me, and Ill be glad to tell you.

I will respond to the post above with this: Why spend $500 on a bottle when you can get it anywhere else for $50?????? Any money you spend at a Vegas club is wasteful spending and not out of necessity. And to answer your question directly, I place the money in my hand, and pass it on to the host when he shakes it.

EDIT: Nick beat me. I was referring to the post above his.

Keeping what Dnix said in mind I would say this:

I think all of your tips are decent. I wouldn't tip anything less than $100 though.

I'm assuming these are weekend tip "rates"...

Is there a substantial difference for tipping a host for a mid week reservation? Lower min spend, lower tip?
                Past Trips:
                2013 - May 8-12th Staying @ MGM (Bank|Wet Republic|Hakkasan|XS)
                2010 - May 10-14th - Stayed @ Luxor (LAX|Moon|Haze)

the substantial difference is the person giving the tip. its not a rate, its a gratuity, and it completely up to you. if you feel you should tip less mid week, then you should.
