  • Going to VEGAS with 18 dudes..FML and help me!

So here's the situation..all of us boys grew up together and we have a big group of close friends. One of our buddies is the first to bite the bullet and getting married this summer, so it's our first stag in the group and of course everyone has to go...

In the end we have 18 of us Alberta boys coming and of course had to come on one of the busiest weekends of the year (April 29-May 2nd). We are all staying at the Encore (got 4 suites booked) but now we are running into the issue with clubs and most important, the BOTTLE SERVICE!

Since guys are rolling in at different times, we have decided to do a free-for-all on Thursday and either go to Tao or Tryst..but we are trying to figure out what to do for Friday and Saturday night for bottle services, since I got stuck with the duty to figure it out and come up with a total for both nights. As of now we have Pure for Friday and XS on Saturday..

So I needed your guys' help with dealing with a big group when it comes to bottle service?
-should we book 2 tables separately?
-I have 4 guys in the group that don't drink but obviously we all want to hang out together, so is there a way to get a table for 14 and just have the other 4 hangout at the table without being considered part of the bottle minimum per 3 guys? Are we able to talk to a host about this circumstance?
-Am I right in calculating bottle prices + 25% (tax/tip) and tip to the host as our final total?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated! I love reading the posts on this site and thank Jack for a great site when it comes to Vegas.

    Go Canucks!

If I were you guys, I would get the Skybox at Rain on Saturday night, and take girls up there with you from the dancefloor.

If you get tables, have your friends who don't drink just enter the club on their own, then join you at your table. That way they won't be counted for the bottle min.

Is Rain still pretty hype on the weekends?? We would prefer to stay on the strip though, to make things easier getting around and guys coming back to the hotel at different times..

Rain is over. At Tao you are going to get a spending min and the will likely put u in a skybox. Pure will do buy one get one specials on Friday. My friend through a bachelor party for 10 guys and they bought 5 and got 5. If your going to XS on Saturday they are not going to be happy about 18 guys. Call Ryan Perrings or the club directly and before you give them the number tell them you are interested in a premium dance floor table and you are aware they START at 5k. If its the main number ask them to have a senior host contact you. Ryan can do this for you. I could see them wanting 10k for such a big night. XS is worth it!

Dude who said Rain is over doesn't know what he's saying. There's nothing better on Saturday nights than Perfecto Vegas @ Rain. That wouldn't be the case if you hate house/trance music... but I can't imagine how anybody who is drunk would not get into that music, and hit the dance floor... the fireshow and lightshow they do there is just amazing. After Oakenfold leaves, Rain might not be so great, but right now, Saturday nights it's the spot. a lot of people who don't really know shit put Rain down. i personally can't really take the opinion of someone who likes top 40/hip hop seriously. when it comes to clubs, music like that is bullshit. once you start going to clubs w/ house djs, you don't wanna do top 40 and hip hop ever again.

Though you are certainly entitled to your opinion that "There's nothing better on Saturday nights than Perfecto Vegas @ Rain" I respectfully disagree. I was at Pasha in Ibiza and hit Haze for Tiesto both recently and can appreciate a house night and party. Rain though, in my opinion, has seen its better days. It certainly is a well deisgned space and nicely complemented ghostbar when Morton and Degraff first entered the Vegas scene years ago and the N9NE group still throws some great parties. Nonetheless, XS is the most popular venue in Vegas on a Saturday night. They are conisistently sold out and have an excellent male to female ratio. They are followed by Tryst, Tao, Vanity and Haze for the moment. With the implementation of braclet sales The Palms seems to be catering towards a different demographic. They have always been more college age but, the braclets seem to attract more to groups of guys who are looking to get in somewhere easily. If your set on House by all means go to Rain and/or Drai's afterhours but, the best Saturday experience in my opinion is bottle service at XS followed by Drai's if your still inclined to party afterhours.

I still pop into Playboy and Moon when I'm in town and think Nove's new High Society Brunch is exciting. So much love N9NE group.

The majority of tourist and locals disagree with you. What clubs have you been to in Vegas???? At least give us a comparison between rain and other clubs. It would help your opinion.

Otherwise your just someone with a very biased opinion, because you like house music.

FYI: Oakenfold rarely plays at Rain anymore, so you kiinda of debunked your own statement.

I've never seen Oakenfold there, so I didn't debunk anything. I said Perfecto Vegas in general is the best place to be if you like that kind of music and a good show. I'm not saying it's the best club to be at, I'm saying there is no other place to be if you want THAT SPECIFIC experience. A lot of people prefer top 40/hip hop, so other clubs would make for a better experience. I haven't been to Haze yet, but I've heard good things about that club, especially for Thursday nights. I just know that clubs in L.A. are generally way better than clubs in Vegas, and that my experience at Rain is superior to any house-music experience I've had at any house show in L.A.

Again, just so you're still not misunderstanding me: Rain is the best place to be on Saturday nights ONLY IF you're into house/trance and amazing visuals. So you're right, dnix, most locals and tourists would not say Rain is the best place to be. Most would prefer top 40 and hip hop.

Seen it's better days? I can't believe how douchey it sounds every time someone puts Rain down just because it's been around a while.

My experience there was pretty grand, so I can't imagine what it's "better days" must have looked like.

Anyways, back to the OP's question.....I was in your similar situation last summer with 15 guys. Unless you guys are comfortable spending a ton of $$$, I would forget about going to XS, as it appears to be super expensive on the weekends, espcecially for a group as large as yours. This is just my opinion, but I would target some of the 2nd tier clubs where you would be able to negotiate a decent deal for your party (i.e. buy one, get one on bottles). Clubs such as Pure, Rain, Moon would potentially work with you in order to get a better deal. Even if you get a deal where you buy 4 bottles and get 2 free, it would be worth it. Call the hosts directly and tell them your situation and negotiate a little to see what you can get. To me, spending $5,000 at XS is not going to guarantee twice as good of a time as spending $2,500 at another club like Moon or Pure. Accordingly, I would never agree to the high table minimums that XS is requiring for groups of your size to get a decent table.

In order to figure the cost....take the total cost of the bottles times 1.27 (20% for tip and 7% for tax). Also, you need to figure in a healthy tip for the host, especially if they hook you up with a deal on bottles and/or give you a good spot. If you don't mind buying 6 bottles (approx $3,500 after tips), then my #1 recommendation would be to get bottles at Tryst one of those nights, as there really isn't a bad table in the whole place, so you won't have to tip extra to get a good table.

I see what you're saying, but that's the natural cycle of clubs in Vegas. They're good when they open, stay popular for a while, and then decline over the years. Rain isn't the only club it's happening to. Pure has been declining too, according to some reports. I'm sure this will happen eventually with others as well.

Rain is cool, but it does feel dated after seeing places like XS and Vanity.

Exactly. You see it happens to everything in Vegas, from the clubs to hotels to restaurants to shows. Everything has to change to keep drawing people in. The first time I went to pure I was blown away by far the best club ever, their was beautiful girls everywhere and the last time I went it was dead.
I swear feels like the last few nights we've been everywhere and back but I just cant remember it all

Rain has its moments if you are into house/trance music. But if you look around in Palms, everything just feels all old and out of times.
