Whats up peoples. I figure I would go ahead and post a trip report from recent visit to Home Sweet Home Las Vegas. I was there from April 8th to the 12th.
April 8th (Thursday)
Got into Vegas fairly late (by my standards) so it was around 4ish. We drove from LA and we had a house out there about 5 miles from the strip. Everyone gets there own room and its cheaper. That night wasnt anything spectacular. We hit up Tryst that night. We actually got there pretty early so we could gamble but Lady Luck wasn't really on our side so we hopped in line around 10:30ish. I'm kinda glad we got there somewhat early because by 10:45 the line was packed. We got in within 20 minutes of getting in line. I was expecting to grease the doorman but was happen when I didn't have to, especially with 5 guys. Thursdays at Tryst are always pretty good. We've done it so many times before because it always seems like a safe bet to start the trip.
Even got my friend drunk enough to do an impromptu break dance battle. He blew me away when he started to do legit windmills. Surprisingly everyone thought it was pretty cool.
April 9th (Friday)
This was the night we were really looking forward to. Friday nights are all about table service at Tao with us. Once again its something we also do because we know it will be an awesome time. I used to go through Larson for tables there but since he has moved to LA, I went through Tony. Tony was cool but I actually ended up setting my reservations with an assistant of his, Savannah Molina. She was on point with everything. I never actually got to meet her in person but she definitely would have gotten a huge tip from me. She gave me the exact table I requested and was able to get a few friends on the guest list for me. So big ups to her, she'll definitely be hearing from in a few months when I head back. The actual host who walked me to the table was a guy by the name of Anthony and he's pretty new there (only been there for 6 months). But he did us right and he was great for the night. But we just did something simple and got two bottle of Goose. We got table number 83 (its upstairs, above the bar). Its my personal favorite since its above the bar and people always stare and its out of the way. Had a great night. Ran into Reggie Bush as well. Had to end the night fairly early (3ish) since my friend got kicked out for repeatedly going into the bathroom with some chick. But overall a great night.
April 10th (Saturday)
Saturday was more about curiosity. It was our first night ever going to XS. I contacted Patrick Frank despite all that was going on here on the forums. We came to an agreement of 2 bottles plus a $300 handshake up front. We arrived at Encore at 9:45 as he instructed us. Surprisingly there was already a huge line for general admission and table reservations. I sent him a text and he met us out front and after the handshake he escorted us inside. Since it was my first time I really don't know what prime seating is so I just had to take his word for it. We were sat right next to the dance floor but we were officially outside. So it kind of worked out since it was a beautiful night out and we were close to the floor. My only gripe with the table location was the amount of foot traffic right next to the table and the fact that our seating consisted of a small couch that would fit two guys and we had stools for the rest of seating. But overall a great atmosphere and amazing club. As people reported before it really is mainly Asian people, so if you got yellow fever, you'll be in heaven. We did the usual there and it was a hell of a lot more expensive compared to TAO. I have some receipts that I'll eventually post up. I'm think that either I was overcharged or double tipped but I was pretty drunk at the time that I didn't care. That night ended prematurely as well since one friend couldn't hold his liquior. But I had my fun and even saw security snatch a guy out of the pool for swimming.
April 11th (Sunday)
Originally we had planned to hit up Bank but Lady Luck was on our side that night. We ended up drifting the strip and gambling. I ended up winning enough to kinda break even on the entire trip and at the same time got pretty drunk. Theres a little bar over at Aria when you enter and a bartender by the name of Joe is great. Had a Three Wisemen with Bacardi 151, some 100 proof peach schnapps and Jaeger and my night was set. Stayed out until 6AM and had to drive back to LA at 7AM.
So overall a great trip. I'll post some pictures later on. And we're already planning a second trip. thats it for me. Have a good one guys.
