Anyways this was my first trip to Vegas ever. Booked the trip a few months before and headed there with 3 of my friends. We stayed at the Venetian. Memorial day weekend from Wed to Tue.
Hotel:
I really liked the hotel that it was in the middle of everything and had everything. The room was perfect in that we had 2 beds and corner fold out couch. We slept 4 comfortably and rotated the sleeping arrangements each night (even though we never slept at the same time and didn't sleep much). I also liked that both Tao Beach and Tao are right there. We hit up Tao beach everyday except for Wet (Saturday) and Rehab(Sunday). We also hit up Tao almost every night either as a Pre game or afterhours.
Sight seeing / Food:
We didn't do much of either. Didn't even get to the see the fountains at the Bellagio. We didn't have a single sit down dinner all together. We basically ate when ever we had time as we were partyin it up !
Gambling:
3 of us aren't big gamblers. I did enjoy leaving the club at 4am pulling out a bill out of my pocket and putting it all on black or red. If we hit we would leave right away and scream SUCKERS ! The gambler of the group did play like 5 hrs + per day and at the end of the stay got all our food, drinks, room service, 1 night stay, etc comped.
Wed Night:
We do the check in, change clothes and head down. This is about at 1am and we're pretty tired after a long day of work/travel. We didn't wanna leave the hotel so we go see whats going on at Tao. Only like 25% of Tao is open and barely packed. We hang out, diddy bop a little and begin to drink. Skip the mixers and go straight for the hard liquor. Make friends with the bartender ($$$) and by the end of the night guy was pouring us cups of liquor instead of shots for the same price. Not much action but good enough for the first night. We get stupid drunk and somehow wobble back to the room to sleep.
Thurs:
Wake up, stumble out of bed and say dammmm. Whole room is spinning. Throw on our trunks, grab a bite somewhere to eat and head down to the pool. First we lay out by the regular pool but then we ended up at Tao Beach. Thurs wasn't that packed but we still manage to have a good time. Pitchers of mojitos and buckets of bud light. Grab lunch at the pool. Leave Tao beach around 4pm, half of us take a nap while the other half go gamble. We didn't have any host/club contacts so we call up Wynn directly and make a reservation to Tryst.
We meet up with a few kids that we met there and go to tryst.
We get bottles at tryst in the outdoor area near the waterfall. Not sure if we had to tip the host anything for that table. I'm not sure because I did not walk in with the our group nor did I drink from the bottles but rather at the bar. I figured this would be a money saver but boy was I wrong. I didn't have any problems getting in, I just walked up to the door and told the guy in front i was with a group that has a table. He said no problem but i would still have to pay admission. Admission on MDW was something like 50-75. I thought that Tryst was one of the best looking clubs I ever been to. Celebs all over, seen Carson Daly, Jerome Bettis, and a bunch of basketball players. Crowd wasn't that bad either. Finish the bottles and leave to go back to Venetian. We all hit up Tao for a bit and then pass out.
Friday:
Wake up feeling better than the day before. Throw on the trunks and head to Tao beach. Today Tao beach was definitely more packed and popin off. Spend the whole day at Tao beach. Music was good, drinks are good, crowd is really nice. West coast people are so much friendlier than east coast. I go meet up with a promoter from home who gets me Tix to Wet Republic for saturday. ($100 each)
At night we decided not to do bottles and just see where we can get in. Walk out and go to pure at the Cesars. Damm this line was big. No way we getting in. We couldn't even walk to the front to offer some $$$ to the bouncers or who ever. We keeping walking and end up at LAX. With a little magic and some smooth talking we get into LAX for FREE. Night starts off slow but gets better after a few drinks. Overall I didn't like this place at all. Crowd wasnt the best looking and very thrashy. Stumble out of there at 3am and head over to Tao. We notice the big difference between Tao and LAX. Crowd, music and overall vibe is just so different.
Saturday:
Weather is terrible. Definitely not pool weather and even on the chilly side. We already bought the tix for Wet and we cant give them back so we go. We notice that there isnt much of a line and they are actually charging only $40 to get in. Definitely weather related. As the day went by the sun came out and it got a bit warmer. Party was pretty good regardless. Got packed by 2pm. This place is must go on a saturday. We hang out mostly by the big bar towards the back. Coronas and Patron ! Tons of girls everywhere. People getting crazy in the pool and the Jacuzzi. Good times ! We leave and make the long trek Thru the MGM. Now i know that you dont have to do that long walk and can just walk out the door and jump in a cab. We head back to the hotel and we are all fried ! Sunburnt, fever, chills and all that good stuff. Decide we wont go out tonight, we"ll just chill, gamble , room service and just hang out. Tomorrow is gonna be a big day as we"re trying to goto Rehab.
Sunday:
Good thing we didnt go out last night as we would have been completely shot. We decide to have a big breakfast and head out to Rehab. Advice for anyone going on MDW, GO EARLY. WE get there at a little before 11am and the line seems to go on forever. There's no way we gonna wait on this line. We hit off the bouncer and walk right in. Cost us $150 per person. Rehab is what its cracked out to be, literally LOL. Huge pool party, girls everywhere, and you can even gamble right by the pool. Grab a bucket of bud lights as i dont wanna keep waiting on line for a drink and stuff my pockets with beer. Didnt even bother to step in that pool as it kept getting greener and greener as the day went on. We leave at about 6pm and head back to hotel. We're totally spent as Rehab wears you out big time. Do the disco nap and decide to hit up Tao for Morillo when we wake up. We goto Tao about 4am, no probably getting in as there wasnt a line at this point but we did have to pay something like $75 for admission. Tao had a great crowd, music and vibe as always. We stayed till about 8am and then head straight to the pool. I pass out on the beach chair.
Monday:
Wake up to the music from Tao Beach. Head upstairs, grab the rest of the crew, get breakfast and head down to Tao beach. More pitchers of mojitos and buckets of bud light. Left tao early around 2pm and took another nap. As this is our last night we decide to go big and get a table. We decide on Prive but dont call ahead to reserve a table. We get to Prive and see a line. At this point we dont even bother trying to wait on the line and go straight to the front. They offer us 2 bottles for 1k plus tip and a tip to the host. The tip to the host was something that is brand new to me and i couldnt understand why should i pay this guy when he already gets paid by the club to bring in people who get tables. Anyways $200 tip the the host and we get a pretty good table in the main room. Pretty good spot (closed down recently). This was our last night but we were already all partied out at this point. All of us were kind edgy. We finish the bottles and leave. Dont even remember what we did after. Maybe Tao.
Monday:
Check out, get much of the stay comped, and goto airport. Eat at the mexican spot (dont eat there, its terrible) and catch our flight.
OVerall thoughts:
It was my first trip to vegas and i loved it. My initial thoughts of Vegas was that it is a fairy tale place. Where else do you walk around with only hundred dollar bills in your pocket (atm didnt give less), get the best service (you pay for anything and everything, $$$ talks here), and every girl you see is dressed like a whore ! Definitely no other place like this anywhere. Cant wait to go back. Sorry if i left out alot of juicy details as im writing this almost 2 years later.
