Memorial Day Weekend Questions

I am thinking about coming out to Vegas for memorial day weekend and had a few questions for those of you that have been during this weekend in the past.

Should I pick a hotel that is having events I am interested in?

I see LOVE Fest is going on at The Palms, I am interested in checking out some of their events that week/weekend. Does anyone know if you get into anything (daytime pool parties) for free if you are a hotel guest? Or since it is a holiday weekend do they charge cover even during the day?

Has anyone posted or can anyone refer me to an event schedule that would show what DJ's will be where? I hear Kaskade is supposed to be the resident DJ @ the new Encore Beach Club... will he be there opening weekend?

What DJ's will be at Wet Republic?

Is there another site that is good for finding out this kind of info?

Staying at HRH Tower suite:

Thursday Night, Bottles at Pure or Tryst. Still undecided. Mainly because it is Hip Hop top 40.

Friday: Ditch Fridays (Mainly because it's Hip Hop and Run DMC will be guest DJ'n)

Friday Night: Palms Pass, spending the majority of the night at Moon (mainly because of hip hop top 40 music)

Saturday, Chill day at Hard Rock Pool

Saturday Night: Tryst or Pure, depending on what we did Thursday.

Sunday: REHAB! Who knows if I'm alive that night.

Monday go home.



I did the Love Fest last year MDW on accident. I was staying at the Palms. Even if you are a guest at Palms, you are going to need to pre-pay for a wrist band. I recommend wanttickets.com. It worked perfect for my group last year.

Hey, no offence taken... so @ the Palms can you not even access the pools during the day when they are doing Love Festival events there unless you pay? This is huge info because I probably won't stay there if that is the case.

I actually like any kind of party, but prefer house/electronic music... so that's why I was thinking about The Palms.

i was there for MDW two years ago, though I'm not a house/electronic fan either so i can't really comment much about that. what i will say is you might wanna try going to the website of the major clubs listed on JC, they'll either have their event schedule with DJs posted, or you can sign up for their email newsletters. Pure Mgmt, for example, emails every week or so totell me who's hosting/DJing when. But I'm fairly certain almost all the clubs have at least one night that is house. Rain comes to mind, Jet or Haze even. Drai's late nights... Try yelp.com for reviews

As far as MDW in general, it was crowded as hell so if you plan on doing alot of stuff in one hotel it might be smart to stay there. we happened to be in a timeshare right off the strip that time so it was a major pain in the ass cuz we kept getting stuck in traffic

Electrofan, last yr at the Palms MDW you could get into the pools for free during the day if you were staying at the hotel. However, all the events at night you had to pay for - that's when you'd want to use wanttickets.com

Last year from what I remember Friday and Saturday at the pool was a mix of music, but Sunday was 100% house / techno.

From what I'm reading... it sounds like MDW at Wet is all house / electronic music. I don't feel like paying $75 to get into a techno concert.

I will miss ditch on Friday by the time I fly in.

Is Tao beach house / electronic music all weekend?

Where can I find a pool with top 40 / hip hop?

I also don't feel like dealing with the crowd at rehab on Sunday.

same deal here...gettin in late that friday...looking for hottest hip/hop spots for the weekend...any other weekend i've been out there, i caught bottle deals....anyone know if they have any deal anywhere? also any special events besides love fest. LMK

Any club host I talked with... said no deals that weekend... way too busy. Bottle mins / prices are also jacked up.

Not sure about the pools... I would guess it's the same.
