AN OPEN LETTER REGARDING COMMERCIAL POSTS…
Dear Forum Users,
The JackColton.com forums are meant as an open community for all to post their praise, complaints, questions, and suggestions for anything related to Las Vegas entertainment.
If you are visiting the forums as a representative of a nightclub or an independent VIP hosting company, please be mindful to limit your posts to those that legitimately contribute to the overall quality of the forum community. It is perfectly acceptable for you to post flyers for upcoming events, to include your contact information within your avatar, and for you to endorse your business with a certain degree of implied subtlety.
The fine line between legitimate commercial suggestions and spam / over posts within the forum will be defined by the total number of posts by a given user -- or group of related users -- and the amount of their posts that appear to be a genuinely relevant contribution to the forum community.
Much like being a resident in a small town, building a reputation of always trying to sell something to everyone who passes through will be about as useful to your business as being known as the town whore frequently seen behind the gas station dumpster with strange men
.
Alternatively, you can choose to build a positive reputation amongst the forum community by offering advice to readers, not always related to your business, and by building relationships that will ultimately have people referring you because they trust what you have to say
.
Respectfully,
Jack Colton
PS: The new JACKCOLTON site is almost done and its siiiick!
