A lot of the forum members will be fully aware im due to hit vegas next tuesday (20th) but right now all UK airports have been shut down for over 24hrs due to a volcano erupting in Iceland and the volcanic ash in the air which is preventing all flights leaving and entering uk airspace! Personally I have a feeling this is going to continue till next week and could cause my flight being cancelled! I hope this isnt the case but i feel like crying right now, so i need all forum members to stay positive for me! Ive been planning this trip since oct last yr! I have tables and cabanas organised for every day! Its just been confirmed all flights are now cancelled till 1am saturday!
UK airports all closed

Mate I would try to stay calm (easier said than done) the airlines will be taking a beating financially and after the last couple of years with the economy and what not they really don't need this.
Rest assured they will have planes in the air asap if you were flying today or tomorrow morning then it might be a different story but Tuesday will be fine lets face it if all flights were still grounded on Monday that would be 5 whole days, they cant and wont let that happen.
I would start the gambling early with a bet that the first flight will be taking off in the next 48 hours

I appreciate the sympathetic words pal! What you are saying males sense but, ultimately its not the airlines refusing to go up its the aviation authorities! I am praying! I have had 9 grown men crying down the phone to me, not nice!Originally posted by Meatball View PostMate I would try to stay calm (easier said than done) the airlines will be taking a beating financially and after the last couple of years with the economy and what not they really don't need this.

Hey Nick
I feel for you. I'm scared shitless and my flight doesn't leave until Friday 23 April... Worst is that they got this other volcano, Katla, which may erupt as well b/c the first one.
Brits must love Iceland btw. First you get fucked for about GBP 40 Billion and the citizens decide, no we're not paying back... Then the volcano shit. You got nukes. Can't you just get rid of that good for nothing rock? I'm ok if you evacuate the Icelanders first, but no must...
Don't loose hope man. It will work out. It must.I'm the one on the right, unfortunately

I hope all's well on your end over there, but... Well, start looking at alternative solutions? Might not be until the 22nd that things clear due to changing upper air winds, according to Accuweather.
By the way, the last time Eyjafjallajökull erupted, it kept going for just over a year [Dec 1821 to Jan 1823]. Just a fun fact!
