  • Memorial Day Itinerary

first, thanks to everyone on this website and specifically this forum for all the helpful hints.

i'd appreciate thoughts/comments/suggestions/tweaks to the following itinerary

group of 4 guys, all staying in a 2br suite in the palazzo

    friday night:
    - 10pm reservations at joel robuchon. debating whether or not to do the 16 course tasting menu. dilemma there is that it would probably be a 2-3 hour dinner which is affect which club to go to...
    - thinking Haze as our club destination for the night due to proximity to joel robuchon. thoughts? exchanged a few e-mails with the Haze host, Peter Kolizeras. seems like a good guy and he says there may be a problem but there may be a second seating. any thoughts on this, especially on a holiday weekend?

    saturday:
    - thinking pool party at the new encore beach club, liquid or tao beach. very much looking forward to jack's guide to the pool parties but would appreciate any thoughts. does anyone know a host to contact for the new encore pool?
    - looking for a more casual dinner reservation, perhaps something within the palazzo/venetian so we don't have to travel
    - we're torn between XS and Lavo. originally, we had wanted to go to XS on friday and Lavo on saturday but that doesn't seem possible considering our late dinner on friday. what do you guys think?

    sunday:
    - we all decided that 36 hours in vegas would be enough so we are all flying back sunday afternoon.

thanks for reading to the end and any/all comments welcome. thanks!

Friday- That's a late and potentially long dinner. I wouldn't make plans to hit a club if were you for after. I'd finish dinner, see how everyone feels (may be in food coma), then either txt a bunch of hosts are various different clubs to see what the situation is at that point in time (make sure to have your club/contact lists ready) or you can walk to the different clubs of choice and see what's up in person and talk to the door people.

Saturday- don't have info on the new pool, could always eat at grand lux or dos caminos, or do a walk around the shoppes and just stop at any of the restaurants that interest you

I'd go with XS although it may be $$$ for that weekend.

For friday, since that may be a long dinner, that line might be pretty packed by the time you get to the line, especially since its Memorial weekend. If you're not doing bottle, I'd suggest to collect $25 from each of your buddies, go up to the bouncer (guy with the clipboard) and see if $100 bucks can bypass the line for all 4 of you. Money always talks during that weekend. You'd probably still have to pay for cover but it beats having to wait on line for now reason. With 4 guys, you're NOT going to get in withOUT girls unless you hook the bouncer up or get bottle.

As for saturday, I'd hit up XS if you can. That place gets packed BUT its huge, so if you get on line early, you'll all get in.

As for pool parties... I'd say wet republic for Friday and either Liquid at Aria or Encore Beach Club for Saturday... the DJs havent officially been announced yet for Memorial weekend, but you can't really go wrong with any of these parties.

      Hope this helps!

        thanks for the responses.

unfortunately we really want to do the dinner and the last member of our group doesn't land until 8:30pm on friday. as for the club on friday, we were thinking about just walking up and asking for a table but i've been burned (in nyc) with having them say something ridiculous like 6 bottles for 4 guys. i figure i contact a host and tell them we won't be arriving until 1am, that way we at least have our names on a list and we will have a reasonable idea of what we need to spend.

it seems like XS is the way to go for sat night. there is no host listed on this site so i contacted them using the website. has anyone tried this approach? i'm a little worried that we might get bumped or screwed out of a table going through the general system.

what's an appropriate time to arrive at the pool party on a saturday? i guess i'm looking for 2 times, the first would be when to go to be ensured a good cabana and second would be when it gets really crowded. also, is the door a little less strict than at a nightclub? can you freely walk between the pool party and the casino inside without having to wait in line everytime?

        thanks again for the help!

Actually, Pool parties are even harder to get into then clubs at times. I've seen really HOT girls waiting on line at wet republic last Memorial weekend. Me and the fellas got there around 1pm. BIGGEST MISTAKE for that weekend! You really need to get there early!!! I'm thinking like 11am the latest. But remember, prices for cabanas are usually double for that weekend so expect no cabana for less than $5,000 (and I'm not kidding). Even general admission for guys for that weekend is more, I beleive its like $75. I have yet to witness Liquid at Aria or Encore Beach Club during memorial weekend since they just/or are just opening this year.

Luckily for us, that weekend, the lady with the clipboard at Wet Republic was offering deals to get guys in. She got me and my boys in for $100 each BUT she walked us right in and the $75 cover was already included. Well worth it!!!

As for Friday, I would just suggest to walk right up to the host and see what you can pull off. It really does depend on how that line is and how packed the club is.

          Have fun man!

Skip Lavo and head to XS. Although it's going to be a madhouse that weekend for sure. But a good time, nonetheless.

That sounds cool me and about 12 guys are following the love fest plan going to be fun. We did it last year and had a great time.
