Wet Republic: What are the chances of getting me reservation "bumped"?

After reading the guides here, Ive been doing some research and price comparisons between going through the host listed on this website and the various VIP services.

I have a fairly large 10+ group for a bachelor party and if I book through the host, I do not want to show up the day of our reservation and find out they bumped our reservation or decline it. What makes me more worrisome going through the host is that they do not take down payment/credit card to actually reserve a table. Its just taking his word for it basically.

Now with the VIP hosting service, the price per person is a little more but the table minimum theyre giving us is a less (more of the money going to the VIP service and host im thinking). But with the VIP hosting service, I have to sign a contract with them and give them a down payment/credit card to actually reserve my table.

Should I be worried about getting my reservation bumped on the day we arrive if I go through the host? Anyone with experience/stories of this happening?

Reservations made with a 3rd party vip host are more likely to get bumped than a direct host because they don't actually work for the place. On the priority list, they are at the bottom.

With the VIP hosting service, Im already putting down money to reserve a table. I can still be bumped/declined even if I put down money? I thought the deposit Im paying the VIP hosting service was split between the VIP hosting company and the host, thus guaranteeing my table (as whats written on the JC guide).

Nope, like Drew said, a 3rd party place is more likely to get bumped than the direct host. When you give this service your down payment you are basically just guaranteeing them money in case YOU decide to flake. They still have to play by the club's rules and give you what they can. They likely wont be able to actually guarantee you anything specific unless you're paying a shitload.

No JC is not wrong. The thing is that the vip hosting company has agreed to give the host X amount of money, but that doesn't mean that you didn't go through the host directly and make the same agreement for the same or more. As long as you go through a decent host and tip well, you should be fine not going through the VIP service.

Also, there are so many 3rd party VIP hosts out there. Not all are good and not all are bad, so you're really gambling on which ones really do have a good working relationship with the party/club in question.

If you go through a reputable VIP company, you won't get bumped. The VIP companies deal with the club and club hosts on a daily basis. The club hosts are much less likely to bump a VIP host reservation as compared to a reservation from some guy from Europe who may never return to their establishment. If the club host bumps a reservation from a VIP host, the VIP host will no longer steer their clients towards that particular club. From my understanding and prior dealings with club hosts and VIP hosts, the advantage for using the club host directly is simply to eliminate the extra costs associated with using the VIP hosts.

I have only used a VIP on one occasion, and it was similar to the original poster's situation. I had a large group of all guys, and I simply could not afford to get my reservation bumped by using a junior host or a club host that I was not 100% confident in. As a result, I had to bite the bullet on that occasion and use a VIP host. Like most members on this forum, I almost always use the club hosts directly. However, there can be a time and a place for VIP hosts. Just my humble opinion.

I have know idea how you could read the website, and think that Colton endorses use a VIP service. In fact, it says exactly the opposite. And how exactly does a JR. Host come in to play with your situation? Who on coltons contact list is a JR Host??????

As far as you getting bumped with a VIP service, it really depends on their relationship with the place. But generally speaking a direct host has more pull.

As far as wet, I doubt you would get bumped regardless who you use. Im sure they over sell at times, but a lot of people no show from heavy partying the night before. That's why the VIP service requires a down payment. They don't want to look bad to the venue, so there insuring you show up.

Personally, I'd never give a down payment. There's no such thing as a schedule in Vegas. But I do understands your concern. I always say I can have fun anywhere in Vegas, so if someone fucks me around, give them the finger, go somewhere else, and never use them again.

And nice post Vegas. It's just hard to find a reptutible VIP company. Even direct host get there hustle on, but atleast you can complain to upper management, although most don't. With a VIP service you have no options.

DNIX makes a good point, if you book directly through the host at Wet, make sure you get your crew out of bed and get your asses to the pool by the check-in time. With a group like yours, you are going to have a high-minimum, and the host will be much more inclined to sell your cabana to a walk-in customer if you are late. Be early if you have to so the Host doesn't get nervous and sell your cabana to the highest bidder. Have fun!

I agree... go direct or I can give you a number for my guy Lance who used to work there. I have never had to give a deposit but you better get there by noon or they get nervous. What was your minimum? I have had $2500 for a bungalow and $1000 for a cabana. Bungalow is worth the extra cash if you can swing it. Be careful and tell your waitress when to cut you off. Things get crazy and you don't want to get hit with a $7,000 bill like me and my boys last year.

I have never been bumped ever.

Any word on Liquid? My contact moved over there and wants us to go there versus Wet.

i had exactly this dilemma going to vegas. going through a host should me fine in most cases, i would just make the effort to touch base with them a couple of times in the run up so they know you're serious and especially if you're running late and things should be fine
