I'm trying to plan the perfect evening here and wanted to get some input. We are going to hit TAO on a Saturday evening and want to eat at the restaraunt beforehand. What would be a good time to make a reservation. How does 8:00 sound?

Did you have intentions of going into Tao the club after dinner? Or was this just strictly for dinner? I don't see any complications if thats the case. -
yeah, we are planning to hit the club after. Do you get to skip the line when they comp you the nightclub entrance for eating there? Im just trying to time it the best we can so we don't have too much time to wait around after we eat nor that we eat too late so that we'd have to wait in a huge line....Comment

Just make sure you tell your waiter/waitress that you intend on going to the club after dinner. They will send a girl around with the hand stamp that puts you in one of the three lines I think (Gen. admin, hotel guests, guest list). Doesn't hurt to hit up the hosts listed on this site either to cover all aspects of getting in from a guest list perspective too.
My wife and I pulled this trick off back in December. One of the checklist guys was walking up and down the line, saw our hand stamps, opened the velvet rope for us and were sent immediately to the entrance by the cashier with everyone else still in line. Cover was waived and they gave my wife the open bar deal free of charge for the first few hours.

thanks for that piece of info. I'm thinking with an 8:00 reservation, we'd be out of there by 10 at least (if they arn't running too behind) that way if we do have to wait in the general admission line, it won't be too long that early. I'll see about getting on the guest list too. thanksComment

+1 after you get your stamp if the club is open then you can just walk right up the stairs, no need to wait in line (the only reason people are waiting in line is cuz they need the stamp you already got)Originally posted by royale View Post

8pm should be fine, if anything you might finish dinner a little early as they are quite quick, or were when we ate there. we had a dinner reservation at 8, but only sat down at about 8.25 because they only seat complete parties and 1 person was running late, and we were finished at 10.10pmComment

So we're thinking of have dinner at TAO, with a group of 25, we're trying to get dinner in at 8PM, will the hand stamp thing work for all of us? Will they hand stamp all 25 of us.Comment

If everyone is ordering a full meal then I don't see why not. Wouldn't hurt to mention something to the hostess and/or waiter/waitress about wanting to go to the club that night.
