  • Aria... who has stayed? Right vibe?

There's not many post about aria. I just got a players club offer that's good memorial day weekend for the bachelor party i'm putting together. The price is great. But i'm not sure if aria is the right party vibe we're looking for. Pool, fun casino, party place, gamblers, girls.

I walked through superbowl weekend around noon... was not blown away. by anything.

Anyone experience something different later in the day?

    Who has even stayed here...

my friends just went last Saturday to the pool at Aria. They really liked it. But had a cabana. I feel everyone likes the pool when they have a cabana lol. I wasn't blown away by Aria either. I mean, yea its beautiful but didnt get the same vibe. I do know a guy who works there and he was telling me all hotel rooms have floor to ceiling windows and pretty much every room faces the strip.

A friend who stayed also told me the rooms are great. But, I have this feeling the vibe on the casino floor is lacking something. I can stay at Aria or MGM for about the same price. But I think MGM will be more of a party the time we're there... there's also a big UFC fight there memorial day weekend. And I've heard casinos are crazy on fight nights.

Looking forward to hearing about your stay. I know the rooms will be great. Just wonder what the party vibe there is like.

i stayed there for 2 nights the last weekend of march.

IMO, I personally like the hotel the best so far. Its very contemporary and modern. and the hotel is HUGE.

Room wise. they have the BEST beds i think. VERY COMFY. but i still think encore has the best rooms in general.

The vibe in the casino IS lacking something, i went through a couple of times during new years week and it was kind of blah. didn't even play in there. and it seems really dark to me for some reason....

and fight night in MGM IS crazy - in a good and bad way. great people watching, shitloads of people to make your way through to get anywhere/eat/play

                    gmjoe,

What did your wife think of Aria? I've heard such mixed reviews that I can't get a good grasp on what to expect. I just booked a 2 bedroom ph suite there at a remarkably reasonable price. Figure I'll just cancel it if I can find something better.

Anyone know if the location (being set back from the strip) takes away from the Vegas vibe? I stayed at the palazzo last time and really enjoyed wandering through to the venetian and across the street to TI and Mirage. Maybe I'm reaching too hard with my hopes that Aria will be amazing, but the suites really do look amazing.

                    thanks.

I have heard the rooms are amazing. I just feel the casino is missing something... it doesn't have the best vibe. That's how I felt walking through twice over superbowl weekend.

If you got a good rate... you will be more than happy with your room from what I hear. I don't think it's a problem being set back a little from the strip.

I went out last weekend on a spur of the moment trip and stayed at Aria. Personally, I really liked it. The rooms are all ran by a digital screen next to the bed that controls the lights, TV, drapes, temperature, music, etc. You can program it to wake you up by opening up the drapes, turning on the lights and turning on the TV. The rooms, however, are standard sized guest room (unlike the Wynn or Venetian rooms which are bigger).

After we checked in, we went up to the room and discovered that that our room hadn't been cleaned yet from the last people who had stayed there. I immediately went downstairs and talked to the front desk manager (TIP: Do not call the front desk b/c they are overstaffed and it takes a long time for your call to get answered). I talked to the manager and politely explained to him what had happened. He immediately gave me keys to a new room along with a $275 food and beverage credit. He explained that he would have comped our stay, but we had already paid cash through a travel agent (3 nights at Aria over a wknd for $275). Accordingly, he gave us a food and beverage credit for the price of what our room would have been.

The pool is really nice, but they are trying to keep it more upscale. As a result, you can't take your drinks into the actual pool unless you go into Liquid. The fiance went into Liquid with the girls while we sat in the sportsbook and watch the celtics-magic game, and she said Liquid was awesome.

I gambled a little in the Aria, and I liked it. The cocktail service at the table games area was better than anywhere else I have experienced.

The sportsbook area is a little small, but I really liked it as well. It is tucked away in a corner, and it has a nice, intimate feel to it. Also, it was the only Vegas sportsbook I have ever been in that I was never bothered by the waitress for drink tickets to proved I was gambling. I had about 5 goose and red-bulls and 5 coors lights, and she didn't say anything about whether we were gambling (it was obvious that we were, but most places require you to produce a drink ticket). At Aria, they don't even have drink tickets in the sportsbook...you simply show them your betting slip and you are good.

We ate and partied off the property, so I have no input regarding bars, clubs, or restaurants.

I stayed there in March, the rooms are cool but the contorller thing is SO CONFUSING!!!!!! it took me a min to really figure it out. Also try to get a higher room or a room not on the HAZE side, cuz you will be hearing the base from the club ALL night if not! The beds are nice but i think the ones at PH and the ones in the suites at HRH are better. Overall i think its ok, nothing too special

I am glad she brought up the beds. Honestly, it was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in....ever. I wanted to stuff it into my suitcase and bring it home.

Other things I have thought of: There is no food court or low-cost food options anywhere in Aria. However, there is a convenient walkway that is a five minute walk to Monte Carlo food court, which has Subway, McDonalds, Sbarro, etc.

Also, the sportsbar by the sportsbook has a takeout window where you can order food and bring it up to your room or wherever. The food is kind of expensive ($15 for a cheesburger, $7 for fries), but the food is really good. I actually ate there 3 times during my stay, b/c I am usually on the go.

                              Vega$,

great information, I appreciate it. Your description sounds similar to what I was picturing. I don't plan on partying there anyhow and would really like to do the Bank on sunday, so the location is obviously good for that. from their website's description, the regular rooms don't sound like anything special, but the sky suites seem pretty spectacular for the price.

justcole0516, don't suppose you remember what side of the property haze is on, do you? guess I could probably just request to be away from it when I check in. did it look like haze was worth checking out? I keep hearing they try to entice girls to go in there by handing out free drink coupons, but that sounds similar to what Lavo was doing last year and I never really liked that place.
