  • Dress code advice....

    Hello,

I'm coming to Vegas in a few weeks and have a question regarding dress code. Now I know they say to wear black dress shoes at all clubs but what if I was to wear a pair of slick Black Ransom-Adidas Leather Valley highs under black jeans, a t-shirt and a slick white blazer. Does style count more or less than just wearing a $50 pair of generic black dress shoes.

I have attached a picture of the kicks I plan to wear and trust me the pic does not do it justice. They are super clean, low profile and in my opinion more original than black dress shoes.

I would appreciate any feedback from those who know a little more about what the door men at XS and Tao look out for...

    cheers

Think you'd have trouble with most places because of the white on the kicks....plus you'd look like a wand man! :-)

I like wearing a blazer with jeans sometimes, but usually go for a grey or black blazer with shirt or polo, blue jeans and smart shoes...dont stand out like ur outfit tho :-)

Here's what I've seen...The guy in line behind us at Tao got told to leave and change his shoes, and he had some sort of green "sort of dressy/sort of tennis shoes" shoes on. Like the low-profile running shoe looking ones. Kind of like these, but shiny and green. http://www.shopadidas.com/product/in...GCSE&sv=G16081

He was fighting the guy the whole time saying they weren't tennies, but the guy was not having it.

Also, the white blazer might be dangerous. I can already picture some drunk chick smearing her makeup or spilling her vodka cran (or a drunk douchebag spilling his Adios MF) on it. I'm just sayin...

my imo about shoes and getting in:

First off anyone can get in to any club... it doesnt matter who you are... cause a golden rule of the world in general is money talks... well same goes for vegas... also the cliche "its not what you know but who you know" (meaning a good host that you have worked with before and have taken care of before) sooo here are the things that will assist you into getting in with your shoes.

        1. have bottle service... and tip out our host well upon meeting him for your table.

        2. be on the hosts guestlist and tip out your host/ clipboard guy, or who ever is helping you, well

        3. Have some good looking girls in your party all dolled up and do number 1 or 2

        4. Walk in with JC himself, when he is leading AoD past hundreds of people in line.

If you look like you belong inside and you have the money to spend then you should be able to pull it off with 1-4.... if your just gonna line up and try and get in without toking anybody... you may run into resistance .... its not impossible though i recall Moe walking back up from tryst and telling their host/bouncer that they needed to get one of the guys in who was still outside... and he got in without toking anybody with nikes on ... so ymmv... good luck irl

unless you know someone who works for the club then dont risk it, you dont want to stand in line for however long then get told you need to leave and change your shoes, the better nightclubs in vegas are ment to have more class and they want you to dress the part, those shoes would not cut it at most clubs including TAO/LAVO, XS, blush, TRYST, Prive, Bank, HAZE you might be able to pull off palms, JET, PURE and LAX but I honestly wouldnt try

              +1!

The real answer is "it depends" - depends on the club, who's covering the door, what night it is for the club, who you know, if you'll grease, etc. But why even put it to chance?

My friend's fiance had sort of a spat with us about the shoe situation, because she and I were trying to convince him that his brown leather adidas sneakers weren't going to be sufficient to get him in anywhere nice. She finally browbeat him into wearing nice black dress shoes. We got to Blush fairly early, before there was much of a line, but they completely denied the guy in front of us for, you guessed it, wearing brown adidas sneakers. And that was at Blush, at 9:30, on a Wednesday. I can't imagine it would be any easier at a truly major club like XS on a weekend.
                Epic trip was epic.

If you're in need of some snazzy black leather dress shoes for a decent price, Aldo always has something on clearance. Try the website if there's not one in your mall. I've only bought their sneakers, actually, but their dress shoes I've tried on seemed to run a size big FYI.

How did I forget about this?!!? Totally true. We didn't realize he had on Nikes until we had been in the club for a bit. Maybe it was because there were a couple of hot girls trying to get them in , maybe because they tipped, but they didn't even glance at his shoes. However, this was at Tryst, and the "green shoe incident" was at Tao. Maybe that makes a difference?? No idea.

                    Too funny dogeaters!! Nicely played!

Thank you to everyone who posted a comment on this thread and really appreciate the advice. My boys and I have already reserved bottle service to XS and Tao and I know I'm taking a chance wearing the before mentioned kicks but 'Style' and 'Swag' must account for a lot more so than just the usual uniform of black shoes, jeans and button up. Looking at some of the pictures of the party goers at some of these clubs on the best nights, I'm sure I will have no issues.

                      Thank you

If you have bottles reserved then your shoes will probably be fine.
