Don't know if this is old news but, I apparantly felt like the last to hear that Kaskade will have a residency on Sunday's at EBC per Xania Woodsman!

I spoke with someone who works there who said that wouldn't be happening. He said Memorial Day weekend was the first weekend it would be open.

Wynn doesn't really believe in soft openings... take his resorts for example. He also did not do a soft opening for XS and what I've been told by, some very high up people is that they will open the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. When renderings have been leaked (and this one by a very reputable source) they are pretty accurate. Wynn realy likes to underpromise then over deliver and that tends to equate to minimal press prior to opening.

XS is owned by the waits bros and victor drai not steve wynn, however wynn is very involved in the newest additon of surrender with several others so he may very well have the say with regard to a soft opening. they are always a good idea to see where improvements are needed, so to not screw up royally on a major weekend like MDW and possibly recieve bad press.

Respectfully, I believe that the twins (who are amazing people) actually are managing partners and, the way I understood their setup is that Victor shares in a percentage of XS' profits. Victor and the twins manage the door, table reservations, staffing, marketing etc. but, the casino i.e. Mr. Wynn controls the alcohol inventory. This gives Mr. Wynn greater control over the operation and insures that everything is accounted for from a financial standpoint (i.e. he will not be having an IRS issue especially considering there are gaming tables inside). If I remember right, Encore opened about Dec 17, 2008 and they were not really showing the venue off to anyone, including media, until right before opening and certainly they were not allowing images of the venue to be released until after the NYE opening.

My assertion that Wynn doesn't really do soft openings comes from a comment he made to AP reporter Steve Freiss- for USA Today I believe. Additionally, per higher ups at Wynn they specifically told me that they presently anticipate no soft opening and will open in full on MDW but, that is just what I have heard. Interestingly, Sean Christie- the managing partner of Blush, will be overseeing the Encore Beach Club.
