  • First Vegas Trip Suggestions/Help

Hows it goin members of JC? First time poster here but have been lurking for the past few months. A group of about 8 of us will make our first trip out to Vegas for March Madness. We will be there from March 17-22 staying at Mandalay Bay.

I have a few questions and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok first, my uncle who lives in Denver visits Vegas frequently and spends a lot of money while he is there. He has a casino host with the MGM properties. He learned about my trip to Vegas (while he was in Vegas last week) and talked to his host about helping us out while were there. We wanted some help getting into clubs/doing whatever he can for us.

So to my questions, my uncle said he talked to his host and the casino host is getting us a table at Jet. First, if you have a casino host set up the table reservation what does that all include??? I would think it would be bettter having him set it up than if I did it through email.
What night should we go to Jet, Friday or Saturday? My uncle said the casino host wants me to call him the day before we go out there and he will set everything up.

We are also looking to go to The Bank or LAX or any other good MGM properties that yall might suggest. We won't be doing a table service the second time we go out but the casino host said he would also be able to help us get in without much of a wait or paying cover. So im guessing he will just give us passes or put us down on the guest list.

My main question though is, how can we use having a casino host to our advantage?
Once again its my uncles host and not mine, I'm no way near as big of a spender only being 22 and in school. I don't really know what else the host can do for us besides helping out with clubs and even still I dont know what that would include. But, just having him should give us somewhat of an advantage I would think.

thanks for any insight, sorry its kinda long just getting reallllyyy excited about Vegas in 15 days and want to have everything somewhat planned out before we get there! thanks again!

From what I know casino hosts cater to the gamblers... do you guys plan on gambling at all? I have a friend thats some what of a bigger baller, and he had a bad experience with one of the MGM casino hosts which couldn't really cater to many of his requests on Labor Day weekend... but he had better luck over at the Palms and Hard Rock.

Then again, it was Labor Day weekend.

My advice is to go ahead and use the casino host your uncle uses, cause it may very well work. But I would also contact the hosts listed on the main page as a backup. In case the Casino host can't come through, at least you have a backup plan.

Also, Fri/Sat nights are good pretty much everywhere.

From my experience, casino costs typically have no swack with the big clubs in Vegas, b/c the clubs are ran by companies independent of the actual casino property. I was in Vegas with a guy who was betting 5-10 basketball games per day during the NCAA tournament at $10K a game, and his host at Caesar's had hardly any pull with respect to getting us a table at PURE and getting a bottle deal. Others on the board might be able to shed more light on this topic through their experiences, but in my opinion, I would not rely on your Uncle's hosts. Nyceguy gave good advice....if he can help you, then great. However, I would certainly contact the club host myself as well in order make sure you aren't left holding your dicks outside of the club.

Since you admittedly won't be gambling at high stakes, the casino host really doesn't have that much incentive to take care of you. Regardles, good luck and have fun!

The casino host may have an incentive if his uncle is a high roller and goes to vegas quite often. A gesture like this would hopefully be appreciated by posters uncle if he knew the casino went above and beyond for his nephew.

On the other hand, like others said, I doubt this host could do anything more than you could do by just texting or emailing the club hosts listed on this website.

Yea that is true. They basically denied him access to Wet Republic, but I found another way with my MGM hotel bookings package instead. I would definitely have an actual host that works at the club/pool as a back up just in case!

The first part is what is going on. My friends and I won't be betting enough to have a host of our own. My uncle just wants us to have the best time possible and since he is a frequent high rolling visitor he has a host who I'm sure wouldn't mind helping out my uncle/get in his good graces..

The host said he would be setting up the table for us. I have to call him tomorrow actually to tell him the names of our group so im sure I'll find out more then. I'm hoping for a special on bottles or something more than what I could get by doing it myself, but from what I've seen on here I dunno if that will happen.

From the sounds of it this host knows a lot of people and does his job very well. I was coming here to ask if anyone has ever had an experience like this or knows anything about it. Not being high rollers I don't really know what he could do for us besides getting us into MGM property clubs (jet, bank, lax).

Which day should we get the table at Jet, Friday or Saturday?? Also, is Jet a good choice for this or should we look at one of the other MGM properties?

thanks again, yall are a big help.

There will be very little difference between Friday and Saturday at Jet. Another MGM club I would suggest is the Bank at the Bellagio. If given a choice between the two, I would pick the Bank, but I've had some memorable nights at Jet as well.
