What would you suggest for four couples planning to spend a 40th birthday party weekend in Vegas? We know (or suspect) that most of the clubs aren't right for us, but what is? We figure Vegas has so many party options, one or two have to be a place we can hang out and hear ourselves talk. Thanks.

Really depends on what you're looking for. Do you want a place to dance and party? Enjoy a chic boutique type atmosphere so you can lounge a bit?Originally posted by askevi View PostWhat would you suggest for four couples planning to spend a 40th birthday party weekend in Vegas? Most places are very loud so conversation can get muted if you're not yelling.
"Fuck your friends, just do what you want to do" Aside from the more famous, "If you're not here, you're fucking up" AOD... Epic. "

Do any of the ladies like to dance?
Will the fellas be wearing a jacket and dress shoes?
Is money a concern?
knowing nothing other than your age, i'd suggest starting early at MIX lounge at TheHotel>>XS @ Wynn>>Peppermill's Fireside Lounge.
if the guys won't dress up, i'd start at frankie's tiki room>>diablos @ Monte Carlo>>Carnival Court

Hit up the Mix lounge on top of The Hotel.
Rent a cabana at a hot hotel.
Hit up Planet Hwood casino.
Try to get a table on the balcony of Fontana lounge Bellagio overlooking the fountains.
Fremont st experiance for short time.
Carnival court at Harrahs.
Never done it would love to check out Up/down parasol lounge at Wynne.LAUGHTER WHEN A SMILE HAS AN ORGASM.

Thanks guys, appreciate the suggestions.
I think it'd be nice to have the option to dance a bit if you want to. Although I'm not sure anyone in the group knows anything about pop music past the 90's. But I know that once the ladies get a few drinks in them, they'll be for hitting the floor.
The guys will be wearing sport coats and khaki's, we've all gotten a bit more conservative as we've gotten older and become parents, and it's what we're comfortable in. I assume then that we'd be turned away from anywhere trendy, but accepted at the more expensive places.
Speaking of which, money is not really a concern, which is one nice thing about not being 20 anymore. We're staying at the Bellagio, put it that way.
It sounds like Mix Lounge, Fontana Lounge and Peppermill's are good places to check out. I like the idea of Frankie's Tiki Room if I was home kicking back, but I'm not sure people want a dive bar on their vacation, will have to check.
Right now, my plans are Thursday (arrival, see new City Center complex or free time, drinks, dinner, bowling at Red Rock, gambling or lounge, Bellagio fountains); Friday (breakfast, poker tourney for guys, spa/gym for girls, lunch, see Wynn hotel or free time, drinks, dinner, wedding chapel for vow renewal, lounge or gambling, Prince tribute show at 11 pm for late nighters); Saturday (breakfast, ?????, lunch, ????, drinks, dinner, show at Wynn/City Center/MGM Grand); Sunday (home).
As you can see, still working out Saturday, but like the way Thursday and Friday are shaping up. Anyway, thanks for your help!

If money is to be spent this trip, AND you're all celebrating, consider getting bottle at XS, TAO, or Tryst one night. The guy's jackets and khakis get you in no problem, there's eye candy galore, and with all of you drinking, it's shouldn't be a big waste of money.
i don't agree that Frankie's is a dive, but it's definitely off the beaten path. It's best described as a true tiki bar, but might not be worth the trouble with a big group on a short trip.Protect yourself at all times

if I were you (and I am close, 39 on March 5th and parent of one) but I still like to go to vegas and go out, I would hit one Trendy place. Tryst and Xs or even Bank on Saturday will give you a but more mature crowd, not the beer bong University of Chico type crowd (nothing wrong with that crowd.
You never know, the music may appeal and then you forget where you are the 80/20 rule applies to Vegas club as 20% of the people make up 80% of the hot people, I have seen older guys in Hawaiin shirts, the "I.T" group with IOPhone belt pakcs and khakis and black shoes, yoru garden variety striped shirt corwd etc...a bouncer may appreciate a couple crowd with sports coats, knows you will be spending some money and wont cause trouble.....take a walk on the wild side, i wouldnt recommend Vanity but an XS, Tryst or Bank may be a good spot.

Just read what Jack has written up on the site and contact a host at the club you wish to go and call them up and have them put you on the guest list or reserve a table. Works well. Usually means greasing a palm and/or paying cover. The girls may get in free.LAUGHTER WHEN A SMILE HAS AN ORGASM.
