Aussie guy new to vegas

Hey all, hopefully ill get myself to vegas (either with my bro and a mate or by my self) later this year around early August im hoping...

Is this a good time for travel re: clubs and tourist population...

and is it a good time for pool side living and pool parties?

And my main question - how does an aussie guy go in vegas? ive heard girls love the accent... but in my opinion i thought it would be really annoying...? Also, are there many aussies around ?

oh well either way, im lookin forward to it alot - great site by the way.. really good info for the rookies of the world, i.e. australia!

In my opinion ANYTIME is a good time for Vegas, some times are slower than others but its always fun. the pool parties will be in full swing thats a no doubt. as for aussies; there are all types in from all parts of the world and everyone co mingles famously, im sure that the accent will be an ice breaker or conversation point, I mean hell even my NY accent draws attention immediately. the only problem I see for you is the fact that after you have the best time of your life....its certainly not easy (or Cheap im sure) for you to get back and have more fun! enjoy and good luck!

If i were going for say 7 nights, dont wana being doing it massive in style, few bars and pool parties and a couple clubs here and there and minimal gambling, what type of budget should i allow for (not including hotel accomodation - that will all be pre-sorted)..

first off 7 nights in vegas is and extremely long time, ive done it and by about night 5 youre ready to bolt. You might want to split it up to 4 nights in vegas and maybe a 3 night stay in LA since youre so close. I would say with everything food drinks etc somewhere between 100-200 some days im sure you wont drink as much as others but for nights you go to the clubs it will be closer to 200 b/c cover alone could be between 20-40, and if you pregame at casino bars it will save you money you can throw a 20 into a joker poker machine and drink for a while if you play your cards right (pun intended).

re: the 7 nights, could possibly be a 4night stay then away then back again for 3 nights a week later... dont ask why its just part of my overall travel ticket and plan.. but 7 nights straight up i might be able to handle considering i probs wnot be back within the next 2 years

well, im trying have a separate vegas fund, if i work on $200 a day (ignoring hotel costs) im hoping it will work. Oh and i will defs be doing the pre-drinkin hotel move as suggested ahah

I always gamble before I go out. The drinks are cheaper.

is there some type of drink free if gambling policy in vegas? if so, whats the associated minimum betting haha

there really isnt a minimum. if you are gambling they will feed you drinks....think about it the drunker ones gets the more money becomes "just paper"...JC actually does a good piece on it here he tells you to follow the drink lady, jump in front of her and drop a coin in a slot machine.

I've done 7 nights/8 days in Vegas a few times and I have to agree with nyc2vegas that you'll overload your body (depending on how hard you go and how your body reacts).

I learned to drink from travelling with Australians and British, so if you drink, I think you'll be fine.

For seven nights, my favourite time is to go during the week as they are still packed, with more locals than out-of-towners and maybe it's just me, better service.

My favourite places to hit up:

Sunday: Body English, but there's a few other places on the horizon...
Monday: Jet
Tuesday: Pure
Wednesday: LAX
Thursday: Tryst
Friday: anywhere (I usually like hitting up Tryst or LAX)
Saturday: anywhere (I like Body English because of DJ Clinton Sparks or LAX or XS)

As for afterhours, there's always Drai's (my first pick), Seamless (I've had some REALLY good experiences there, regardless of the area) and I've heard that Studio 54 is now open until 8 am on certain nights...

Wow kid, Save your dough and hit a 4 day 3 night at max. You will get burnt out even in Vegas if you party like a rock star for that long. For a 4 day 3 night you can get by with $1500 if you play it smart and don't do bottle service or anything. But if you must do A 7 day and are not on a budget I would suggest $2,500-$3,000 minimum.

yeh dude im from syd, been to vegas 5 times going again in june for 8 nights, every year i go i hear "you guys r going to die!!" "your crazy!!" etc, Though i think its a good amount of time to be there. I Did 9 nights last year which maybe was a day or 2 to long but it was still really good, on the 9th night we booked to goto carbo the next day at a all inclusive hotel!!.

We meet some girls on the last night and they came back to our room. Then in the morning they packed our bags for us and took us to the lobby at 7am!! was a good night

My tip in vegas is dont gamble (imo you cant win, everything is targeted against you, your best using the gambling money for drinking) or if you do gamble just play the video machines on the bar's slowly and low bets, its the quickest way to get free drinks. Just remember to tip each time they give you one.

As for the girls, they love the accent but you still need to have some game to pick them up. My fastest pickup was 15 mins at JET, talked to her for awhile then got her out of the club started doing a crocodile hunter impersonation, had her in stiches, 15 mins later she was back at my room!!

You will have a ball just hope I don’t bump into you, less aussie I meet there the better it is for me!!

re: gambling, im a casino croup so i know all about how my job is designed to get your money hahah, im well trained and good at what i do

Final results of my trip are in, im passing through vegas for 2 days near end of july, then back on my own to have a proper look and party for 3 nights start of august a week or 2 later.

should be good ill post before i go, see if anyone in the area at the time. cheers
