here goes my trip report, trip review, whatever ya wanna call it.
part 1
Friday morning, I wake up. It's my birthday. I am now 23... I came home drunk the night before and fell asleep, so I didn't have a chance to pack. I got packed and ready, then my friend picked me up at 10am. We hit up the BevMo to purchase a HUGE bottle of Patron Silver, and some of those squeezable plastic lemon juice things. Also made sure we were fully stocked with herbals. (I had a little bit of prescription vicodin on me, too, so I guess I'm a real outlaw.) Anyway, we hit the road... On the way, there is a casino called Buffalo Bill's, 45mins or so outside Vegas. We pull in there because we know a couple of guys who always stop by there on their every trip to Vegas, and always leave winning. So, we played some blackjack, and left Buffalo Bill's as losers; my friend being down just five bucks, and me, $75. I wasn't too happy about losing money and not even getting any comp points for it. lol...and the bloody mary they served me might have been the worst I've ever had...but anyhow- Back on the road to Vegas, we went.
After three and a half hours, not including 2 stops we made, we make it to LAS VEGAS!! We proceed to check in at the Monte Carlo. There's no line, so we just walk straight up. I slip in a $20 sandwich, and the young dude in an eager-to-help manner asked what I'm looking for, rubbing his hands together and acting as if we're making some secret drug deal in the parking lot of a Burger King...and I just said any complimentary upgrade would be nice. He mentioned a high floor room with a good view of the strip, my friend and I jumped on it. Meanwhile, I was thinking about asking if we could get a suite... I should have. The room was on the 26th floor. The view was nice, but that was the only good thing about the room. It was shitty. It didn't even have a seperate shower, just a small, shitty tub. Just a real shitty room, even the TV sucked. It wasn't plasma, it was like something from the '90s, and there weren't even any real channels on the damn box. As far as hotel rooms go, Excalibur > Monte Carlo... by far... and I'm no fan of Excalibur.
The view:

My buddy and I had a few hours to burn 'til his brother and cousin arrived. They were on the way, and had hit major traffic. They left a couple hours after us 'cos one of them had to work. So, we settled in our room, got some ice from the machine, and poured ourselves some Patron Silver on the rocks. We enjoyed some drinks and had a nice smoke sesh, then decided to head out to find a cure for our munchies. We stopped at the Dragon Noodle inside the Monte Carlo, got some chow mein with chicken. About $20 for something that would cost about $4 in Hollywood, but who gives a shit, we're in Vegas, baby!! We got our meals to go, headed back to our rooms, and started munchin' away. Delicious, by the way.
We finished eating, then decided to head down for some gambling. So far on this trip, I was down $75. I hit the slots. Started with $100, was down a little, ended up at the really big Wheel of Fortune slots. I was sort of drawn to the seat. I had most of the hundy in the ticket, I put it in, then started playing away... I lost that hundred, then put in another... I took that down to about $20, and I was making small bets at that point. Max bet was $4; and I planned after I lost that hundo, I was gonna call it quits. So yeah, I was just betting 2 credits at that point, and I hit the Wheel of Fortune bonus spin round for the third time. The first two times it landed on something small, so I didn't end up with much. This time I wasn't very enthusiastic, and didn't stand up. (Game tells you to stand and watch the wheel spin) I just sat there, looking up, and saw it land on $10,000. On my first spin, it nearly landed on $10,000, but landed on something very small next to it, leaving me bummed out; so when this time it landed on that, I was extra excited. I printed the ticket, I had well over $200. I had won back all my slot losses, and a portion of what I lost at Buffalo Bill's. I was happy with myself. Shortly thereafter, my buddy and I head back up to our room. We enjoy some drinks and have another sesh, and his brother and cousin arrive. They join us for drinks and tokes. We have a blast just shootin' the shit.
At some point, we start to get dressed and prepare to hit up Tao. My friends brother (who is also my friend lol) said he got us on the guest list through his job and we were gonna get in for free. The company he works for handles some shit for Venetian and Palazzo, at the moment it escapes me what, exactly. Anyway, we exit the Monte Carlo, and hop in a cab. To the Venetian!

-- My friend goes up to ESPN and asks for a table for two. While we're waiting to be seated, he says he doesn't wanna eat, and leaves to gamble. He actually left me alone to eat by myself... Someone came and took me to a seat that didn't have great a TV view; he proceeded to take me over to a booth that had it's own little TV set within the wall. I had my own booth and TV, it was awesome. I had some shrimp pasta type fish, forgot what it's called, pretty common, and cheese fries to follow. Meanwhile consuming plenty of booze. Cocktails and beer. The Lakers win, I finish my meal, and leave to the casino with the last of my drink. I gamble a bit, lose a little money, then head back to Monte Carlo. By this point, my friend had already called me to inform me that he's heading back to the room. So I leave NY NY, and find my way back to my room. It had been a while since my friend returned from NY NY, so he was pretty drunk off the Patron Silver. All three of them were pretty lit. I myself was feeling pretty good. They had only left a little of the tequila; enough for about half a cup. I poured it all on the rocks; bottle empty. We finally empty the huge $90 bottle. Biggest Patron bottle I've ever seen. I drank up, and we started getting ready for Rain.
