Has anyone been to it? Many reviews online, but you know.. most are written by foodie snobs. Plus most people can't bare the thought of having a bad meal at $300 per person, so they self-convince themselves that it was the best meal that they have ever had... but is it truly great?

(this is the 3 Michelin Star restaurant in Vegas)

I've never been to the proper Joël Robuchon, but the L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon was pretty tasty and not nearly as expensive.

They make everything right in front of you and have a very good selection on the tasting menu. L'Atelier received the Four Diamond award three years consecutively.

Cool... I do like table side service.

I have to admit that I have never been to a Michelin Star restaurant. There's just so much other stuff going on in Vegas that I never really made the effort to..

haven't been to robuchon but have had a few very expensive and very disappointing meals in vegas. i definitely agree that some reviewers seem to inflate their ratings to justify the higher price tag.

i wouldn't put too much weight on the michelin rating. in my experience (mostly in northern california), more stars seem to indicate a higher level of refinement, but not necessarily food that tastes better. i've had much more enjoyable meals at one-star or no-star restaurants than i have had at two or three star places.

my favorite meal in vegas by far was fleur de lys at mandalay bay. no stars, but the original one in san francisco has a michelin star. interestingly, we liked the vegas one A LOT better. here's a short review from my trip report

if you do go to robuchon definitely let us know how it is. it's on my list of places to try someday
crap out, cash out, pass out

i still smell like smoke, strippers, and shame

last night i swallowed liquor and a lighter
and this morning i threw up fire

Marc and I had a reservation at Joel Robuchon whilst we were out there - needless to say we never made it, we went drinking instead
          Things I've learned in Vegas:
Girls from Lake Tahoe are crazy, they are just "not that sort of crazy".....

            +1 on Fleur de lys

Everything about it was great, service, food, drinks. We did the "Elegance" menu I think it was called, it was like $75-80 a person and we did the wine pairings with each course. Total came to like $150 a head. Plus they have a $50 gift cert on restuarant.com for like $4. Always good.

We were thinking about Robuchon as well/instead of Fluer (my friend is in culinary school) but decided the extra money was better put to drinking. I wouldn't hesitate to recomment Fleur de Lys though for anyone looking for a good meal. Just go earlier in the evening so you can recover and go out after.

Well I have done it in my last trip to Vegas. Just to put it as simple as possible, it blows your mind away

We were 3 guys so we got a good selection of different dishes of the prix fixe a la carte menu. Here are some insider tips:

1: There are dishes that add a bit extra to your bill. BUT I would recommend that you order at least one of those (preferably as a main course)....they are out of this world

2: Although I am a chocolate lover, their l'orange desert is their best item on the desert list.

3: I would avoid the clams with the caviar (appetizer). They are not bad at all, but just they don't give you the "wow" taste that other appetizers (e.g salmon tartar) give you

agreed. i also ate at L'Atelier, LOVED it, and Fleur de Lys, LOVED it. Ate at Picasso in the Bellagio, very good but not fall out of my seat good and I felt like i had to be all proper and staid because of the Picassos staring at me as I tried not to slup ginger carrot soup (really good btw). HATED both Craftsteak and CUT. its all relative....

I'm no foodie...many of my meals come through a drive thru window.....but Joel Robuchon was out out of this world. Not only the food but the service and the ambiance make for an experience that won't soon be forgotten.....IMO.
