March Madness Betting Strategies?

Haven't bet sports in Vegas before and am heading to Vegas for March Madness. Any tips of strategy. I understand the concpet of the moneyline, etc, but how does tournament seeding affect payouts? Where can you make the most damage without a huge risk?

We just moved up to #2 in the AP Rankings (#3 ESPN). And Cuse has only lost once this season.

Seeding does't REALLY matter, that is the selection committee decisions, Vegas cares more about where the money goes.

As far as making best payout for lowest investment, go with 4,5 or 6 team parlays. Now if you are out there the first few days you will probably want to bet on the spread rather than moneyline if you like favorites, and moneyline if you like the dogs. So for example my 4 team ticket may look like

#3 seed East -12
#5 seed West -6
#10 seed South MoneyLine +130
#12 seed East Moneyline +175

4 team at MGM pays (I THINK 10 or 11-1) assuming just betting all on spread, throw in the added payouts of a few money line bets and my card here would probably pay 130-150 for $10.

Of course if I lose one game I am out of the running so if yoyu are spending the day in the sportsbook try to bet by session if you are just having fun and trying to get drinks. Bet the 4 early games, next 4 etc in addition to one card you really like everyone on as your ticket you may invest more in.

Great advice. I want to gamble $200 on friday (3/19) and trying to think of ways to spread it around. I'll probably try the four team parlay, and a bet on a game or two per session. Staying at Mirage, but not sure what sports book we'll be in.
