There is a new club at the Venetian, Smoking Hot Aces, that I have absolutely no intention of reviewing on the site as I've always had a policy of not officially reviewing iffy clubs. Kind of a don't say anything if you can't say anything nice approach.
Either way, here is a quick rundown for forum users...
SHA occupies part of the space that Vivid Nightclub once was just near Tao on that outer balcony (note: Vivid never received a review either). Their press release says that they are "french inspired," but I'm not really sure where that foreign inspiration comes to play. The club consists of a pool table, tiny dance floor, a handful of low end lights, minimal decor, and a bar. Oh yea, they have an ATM. On the night that I visited the club, it also had a whopping seven people inside.
I'm sure Vivid had a number of problems, but it is widely thought that the club ultimately failed because of the awkward location of the venue combined with the odd relationship with Venetian and the Grand Canal shops. Throwing good money after bad, the people behind Smoking Hot Aces seem to have put even less of an effort towards making it looking like a Vegas Nightclub. Under the best of circumstances, this club wouldn't be anything terribly special even in a much smaller city - making its success on the Vegas Strip very unlikely.
The occasional concert performance or private party may be worthwhile here, but I wouldn't exactly rush to put this one on your to do list.
